You were in Iraq? Welcome back soilder

Brent, Zewad, is going back into the Army soon...

And one of my closest friends in the world is leaving for Iraq on Friday.... I'm crushed. I don't know what I'm going to do without him.

Are you done with your service or are you going back after a few months?

Posted by ABTsportsline on Jan-08-2004 05:42:

i'm no reservist - i am full-time active duty. i am here back in the states for awhile, then who knows? i go where they send me. and i'm air force, not army. was in afghanistan almost two years ago. don't worry about your friends, they will be ok. it's not as dangerous as the tv likes to make it seem. scary environments make for good ratings on CNN!

cheers

I'm glad you came back safe from Icrap. My cousin is also being redeployed soon. I got to see him at Christmas at least... :/

Just a question:

Do most of the people seem to want us there, or do they want the Americans to leave?

Posted by UWM on Jan-08-2004 05:52:

Good to see you're safe and proving that the US media is, infact, sensationalism at it's finest!

I imagine it must be great to be back at home in the states with your friends and family, at least for a short period anyways.

Im gonna be there for about 2 weeks in may, and I will check out this mall for sure. Kind of a wierd name for Latvia, akropolis sounds like a Lithuanian last name or a Greek place... wierd.

LoL.. thats bringin' it back. everyone used to confuse me with the europop star.... heh.

as far as the people in iraq, most of them loved us, used to try to bring us water, etc. you have the occasional nationalists who would try to spit on you, but for the most part they had smiles on their faces.

the media DOES like to blow everthing out of proportion - make it seem like no one wants us here so the country goes against the president, against the military, etc....

its nothing like CNN portrays it....

cheers

lol, according to Unicef over 2 million children in Iraq (younger than 6) who would have lived in normal circumstances, starved because of the US. Then come civilians older than 6 and the military people. Yeah, they loved you.

Air force eh? All the better Is it true that you had no idea really what you were doing in Icrap? My friend that's in the army says that they change the story on why they're going and what they're going to do there almost every day.

I don't listen to CNN. Too biased for me Once and a while I may tune in or read the website for a different (more biased) perspective on a few issues, but overall, I do try to stray away from CNN.

I SebG, mam wjece zdiec, jak wroce z skole to moga dla ciebie postowac w nasim threada

Joe- Tis' true! That's how I feel when I'm watching something in spanish! bla bla bla bla bla coca-cola bla bla bla bla
