Originally posted by ABTsportsline heh, you are right. good eye. and that was my first post in the two years. i was deployed for awhile, in i-craq. cheers m8 -ABT-

I don't know what I'm going to do without him.
i'm no reservist - i am full-time active duty. i am here back in the states for awhile, then who knows? i go where they send me. and i'm air force, not army.
was in afghanistan almost two years ago. don't worry about your friends, they will be ok. it's not as dangerous as the tv likes to make it seem. scary environments make for good ratings on CNN!
cheers

I'm glad you came back safe from Icrap. My cousin is also being redeployed soon. I got to see him at Christmas at least... :/
Just a question:
Do most of the people seem to want us there, or do they want the Americans to leave?
Good to see you're safe and proving that the US media is, infact, sensationalism at it's finest!
I imagine it must be great to be back at home in the states with your friends and family, at least for a short period anyways.

Originally posted by ABTsportsline as far as the people in iraq, most of them loved us, used to try to bring us water, etc. you have the occasional nationalists who would try to spit on you, but for the most part they had smiles on their faces. the media DOES like to blow everthing out of proportion - make it seem like no one wants us here so the country goes against the president, against the military, etc.... its nothing like CNN portrays it.... cheers -ABT-

Originally posted by diesel0 Im gonna be there for about 2 weeks in may, and I will check out this mall for sure. Kind of a wierd name for Latvia, akropolis sounds like a Lithuanian last name or a Greek place... wierd.
but i see you haven't been home for long. it's several years now that supermarkets in Latvia, partly Estonia and Belarus belong to Lithuania's "vp market"
have a nice trip then!

Is it true that you had no idea really what you were doing in Icrap? My friend that's in the army says that they change the story on why they're going and what they're going to do there almost every day.
Once and a while I may tune in or read the website for a different (more biased) perspective on a few issues, but overall, I do try to stray away from CNN.
Tis' true! That's how I feel when I'm watching something in spanish! bla bla bla bla bla coca-cola bla bla bla bla
