No dilemma for me. I've seen Ferry 3 times, Digweed 0 times. If I go, Digweed it will be.

I think that the whole prog elitism thing... well not everyone who likes prog is like that. there are ppl who love trance have been no less angry or protective of the msuic they love. I would never, for example, put my distaste for another music in my avatar or sig- I have more love than hate for all music

Posted by nadezhda on Feb-17-2004 23:09:

i was wondering the other day why elitism seems to be so much more a "prog" or a "techno" thing, rather than a "trance" thing.

that is my random thought of today.

Posted by hank_panky on Feb-18-2004 00:17:

ive seen them both and i must say ferry stole the show.

I think it also depends on the mood a bit too.
(That was well put btw Kytracid).

For instance there are some nights where a good trance set would go down good and huge buildups will take me to the rafters.

Some nights when I just feel like booty shakin', a good dirty house set like Scumfrogs would make my night.

Then there are other nights where an eclectic prog set with lots of nuances, like the last time Holden was here, is very interesting and still dancable.

And then there's some DJ's like Digweed and Armin who come out and you have no idea WHAT they're going to do, surprise the hell out of you and leave you with a huge ass smile on your face...

IS THERE SUCH THING AS A PROG DJ AT A TA MEETUP??

well in defense of my progressive brotehrs & sisters on here....

i don't ever recall someone organizing a TA meetup for a prog DJ, because you actually have to get in touch with the dj to to let him about it...

and why do they have 2 syllables?

that's easy - most last name's have 2 or more syllables

What would be the better event to attend.
Ferry Corsten @ GUV or John Digweed @ Koolhaus??????

Any suggestions?

if you are in the mood for music for the mind (an educational experience) then go for digweed all the way!!!

if you wanna just dance to banging tunes then corsten it is!

Posted by charmscars on Feb-18-2004 15:56:

I think a pre-meet is important for this night.

is anyone interested?

I want to be able to see all my TOTA friends, not just the ones w/ simililar musical tatse.

Ferry Corsten plays hard trance and trance. Ferry plays very energetic sets.

Deegweed plays dark/deep house/progressive. So it's slower sicker stuff. Not as energetic as Corsten, but he can blow you away as well.

Personally I would go see Deegers because I've never seen him live But then after an hour I would probably go see Corsten if they were playing in different rooms on the same night.

Since when was Digweed supposed to spin @ Koolhaus and ferry @ the Guv. I thought it was vice-versa.

IMO, it won't be much ... 15.00 maybe.

isn't the party all-access???
