IT was never about being cool. It was about posting information I knew people wanted to know. I love how people just jump to the conclusion that this is called "showing off" It tells you a lot about the person making the accusation and I feel sorry for them.
I work in the press. My job is to inform. Simple as that.

just got my copy of the album, im anxious to listen to it
My first impression of this album is positive. Tiesto surprised me in a positive way.
I really love forever today, such a great tune!!
I also like Walking on clouds and Just be. Traffic and Love comes again are still shit.
This album is good indeed!
oh btw, spective you could stop 'ripping' it now, it's beginning to stink in here

| Originally posted by skip ok album, nothing too special though! not even near in my memory at least! top tunes IMO: nyana adagio for strings not a single crap tune though! and forever today sounds like terminator 2! too bad as it sounds like it, but not enough! i've always wanted a proper trance remake of the terminator 2 theme, this could have been it but isn't. now it's just an ok tune which sounds disturbingly like terminator 2 at times! would be better with a different melody maybe! |

tracks well produced but nothing innovative, which the electronic needs these days, *cough* and new tiestish sound as well.
Walking On Clouds and A Tear In The Open, is what really got my attention though.
lol @ pic

what the hell was tiesto thinking...it would have been much better if he kept building his album...traffic/love comes again are the hardest tracks, and they are #2/3...then he goes vocal...it just doesnt make sence...
Tiesto wake the fuck up

Just Be and Walking on Clouds are great!
Gotta spin A Tear in the Open a few more times to get into it.
BTW, rips can be had.

I agree with him, there's no sense of direction in the album. Tracks seem to be placed in a somewhat chaotic fashion, with no real meaning behind the structure.
Production wise it's fairly good, albeit he tried too hard to make it sound 'out of the norm' by using really annoying sounds. Best example of this is is A Tear In The Open, with that swirly pitch effect which annoys the fuck out the listener (atleast this one), then after that these really weird portamento pads come in.
I'll go as far as saying some of these tracks are overproduced. Too many elements that seem to have no purpose other than to complexify the track. The various sounds used do not compliment eachother, best example of this is the first track, which starts out symphonic then turns into something completely else which bares no relevance to the intro. None of the tracks really stand out, the best "new" track on the album is no doubtebly the colabo with Josh and Kirsty. There are no "Flight 643" or "Urban Train" or "Lethal Industry" or "Magik Journey" caliber tracks on this album.
Overall a rather disappointing piece of music from Tiesto. In My Memory set a bar for production quality, while Just Be is not a terribly produced album, it does not set the standard, and in all honesty, I can't quite understand what direction Tiesto is taking with this album. Most of the tracks aren't Trancy enough for the tranceheads, and they definitely aren't commerical enough for everybody else, it's sits somewhere in the middle, at best it's an album that can't decide what genre it should be in.
the productions are alright. I wish they could have been a little better. More Techy style like traffic/love comes again. To me thats what made Tiesto a better dj/producer then others. I love his harder tracks. I think the album would have been better if he continued the techy style throught out the cd. It would have been insanely good if he did that. instead he went to vocals, that dont do much.
Too many vocals, but the album is alright. I don't like albums in general, I didn't even like In My Memory that much, so I don't care.
The production quality of most of these tracks is way above most of the Dutch trance coming out nowadays, but this would've been better with fewer vocals.
I like how eclectic it is though, UR and Tear in the Open stand out. Forever Today is a great opener. A Walk in the Clouds is what you would expect from a Tiesto & Josh Gabriel collab, not bad.
forever today is really hot. oh my godess ...
forever today is the terminator theme

Mon ami, marco.V, il s'appelle "50 Cent" pas "s."
Solid release by Tiesto. I'm not the least bit disappointed. I bet my interest in it will only grow the more I continue to listen to it.
Although I hate seeing older releases being added to an album, almost as if the artist didn't want to bother with creating new tracks to fill up 80 minutes, Traffic and Nyana are awesome songs so I'll let that slide.
My favorite tracks thus far have to be Walking on Clouds and Forever Today.
Can't wait for the final release to come out!
