Man, I just finished my ball hockey game and I got to watch the overtime in the bar at the complex. When Gelinas put it in, the whole place went nuts. All of us up in Edmonton are rootin' for you guys. I hope the Flames can keep it up, they're half way there.

GO FLAMES!! =)

Posted by DjCommisad on May-04-2004 07:15:

i called the right number of games. wrong team. screw detroit. go flames.

flames and tampa or san jose and tampa final? I'll watch that.. unless the idiot nhl puts them on at noon time again to make way for early mlb season action.

Posted by j_spot on May-04-2004 07:48:

the NHL doesnt choose those times, its in teh Television deal with US networks who dont want to screw up their evening programming.

ANYWAYS
YA FLAMES! I SAW LOTS OF TITS ON 17th! IT WAS GREAT!

Wow, I said back on page 2, and it turned out to be right. The whole part about 6 games and whoever won the first would win it. Its a shame I picked the wrong team

CONGRATS CALGARY! Best of luck in the next rounds.

Re: Calgary vs. Detroit - Round 2 NHL Playoffs

Huge props to the Flames; last night's game was fantastic. I didn't think they could pull it off, but as I said in the first post of the thread:

That said, I think Kipper is a lot better than Giguerre, and we all saw what he did to Detroit last year, so the Flames can definitely come out on top if they can remain injury free and keep getting big plays from their big players.

Finishing the series with back to back shutouts against one of the most talented teams in the league is fricken amazing. Kipper is awesome and I'm backing you guys to go to the cup finals vs. Tampa.

I'm glad my prediction was off a bit

I say the series follows much the same path as Vancouver-Calgary and the Flames are victorious. Flames in 7.

Flames Forever!

Man...I'm at work with like two hours sleep. What a goal and what a night. I knew the Flames could prevail....I said 7 but six is fine with me. This is going to be one hell of a ride. If you out-of-owners are looking for a good time, head down to Calgary during this playoff run. It's unbelievable...like Tuss said "Go Flames Go Muthaf***as"

Posted by j_spot on May-04-2004 17:05:

estimates in the paper put 15 000 people on 17th

Posted by TranceForever on May-04-2004 17:11:

Bring on whoever!

Man what an amazing game last night!
I was in the states at school watching it with my friend from Van.
When Gelinas scored it was like the puck was going to him in slow motion, I knew right then that he was gonna end another teams playoff run!!!
We were jumping up and down at my place, and hes a huge Canucks fan!
Man this is awesome what Calgary is doing, and it seems that every Canadian hockey fan is backing this great team thats full of heart and drive. This is something special that they are doing right now, and I'm looking forward to being a part of it next week when i come home from school!!

GO FLAMES GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by j_spot on May-05-2004 05:58:

This thread will stay open until we know who we play in the next series.
then we start a new thread, and this will be merged with the other one

Hows that sound to everybody?

Posted by Thracky on May-05-2004 06:05:

It's San Jose, and btw I was at the game last night and holy shit it was absolutely INSANE =D
