Damn nobody's really answered the poor guy's question so far. Nothing concrete.
Lips parted = attraction
Touches you = attraction
Looks you in the eyes and doesn't "let go" = possibly attraction, possibly a smart person just playing you
Legs open = attraction (And I don't mean "OH HUMP ME" kind of legs open, I mean instead of having her legs crossed)
Thinks everything you say is funny = either attraction or trying to suck up to you
It's also good to notice if she gets crow's feet when she smiles. If it's someone from far away and you want to know if she's been checking you out, look down at your watch, or your papers, something of the sort. Then you quickly glance her way. If she's watching you, it should startle her, and she will do whatever it was you were doing, as it was the last action in her memory.

You should never allow a girl to take the dominant position in a situation like this. Start pretending like you don't give a fizzuck about her. If she doesn't go out of her way to let you know that she is still around... you're shit out of luck. Sure, there are a lot of girls out there who might be a bit into you and they're just going to give it up if you ignore them. The ones that turn out to be keepers, though, are the ones that are willing to play the role of the cat and the mouse.

depending on the girl, she'll either ignore you and act like she doesn't know you exist...

it depends on age too...
it doesn't matter what kind of girl she is...every girl likes a confident guy. just go right up to her (without acting full of yourself) and just straight up ask her out.
I think girls react well when you just walk right up to them, look them right in the eye, and then lick their face from chin to hairline, making sure to go over at least one eyeball with your tongue.
PS this works for total strangers as well.

this weirdo i had a crush on in high school did that to me when i thought he was going to kiss me. i didn't know what to do, i just laughed. but inside i was thinking, "ALRIGHTY THEN"!

no seriously, he was a WEIRDO. he ended up creeping me out. i was like 16 years old and he was 19 (a marine). my dad would have killed me (and him) so i just stopped talking to him.
