chem down today...

beers to celerbrate!

but not too many, big exam monday

Posted by Trance Nutter on Jun-25-2004 14:01:

For those who remember, I was complaining a while back about having 3 exams in two days (thats right, 3 in two days).

Yesterday's exam, my god I owned it!! There was nothing I could be marked down on, but I always knew that would be the easy one.

Today, I had two, one at 9am (three hours), one at 2pm (2 hours). The early was was bastardised, but I reckon I did enough to pass, and the one at two, well it was essay based and I had a very good idea what the questions would be (nudge nudge. I won't say how) so I already had good answers thought out.

Today coulda been a whole lot worse, it coulda been really pear shaped, but it was bad enough.

Now I gotta learn another subject in two days for the exam on monday Two days, then time to party.

Anyone going from Adelaide going to the Heaven relaunch on Thurs 30/6?

Posted by G`Dave on Jun-25-2004 14:10:

Shmeh... not bad. Not as good as mine.

I had a 3 hour exam on Monday
2 3 hour exams on tuesday
and a 3 hour exam on thursday.

*Wonders why signed up for Engineering*

Hey, engineering aint so bad. I am doing computer/communication engineering, what about you?

*EDIT* Sorry if you have already answered this question before. :P

Posted by G`Dave on Jun-26-2004 04:41:

Engineering at Monash is just a Bachelor of Engineering then you major in your chosen field. (There are a few specialised degrees like... tele-communications eng, computer sys eng)

The first year is common and there is a unit of each of the different streams to give you a taste of them all which are electrical/computer sys, mechanical/mechatronics, materials, civil and chemical. Then in second year you pick your stream and do just that type of engineering.

I'm still in first year so I don't have to decide yet but I'm pretty sure I'll go into electrical/computer systems eng. But unfortunatly that's the most popular stream.. so I need the marks in first year to get into it.

And don't worry.. I haven't answered that before.

Yah, reckon it MIGHT be a possibility - though Heaven sucks.

Surgery has Mal n Lachy playing - so at least 2 hours to go see, plus cheap / free beers i think. Ill prolly go after them though, and leave the floor for the glowsticks.

Yep, I should have made that clear in my original post. The engineering course I am doing at RMIT is similar. The first two years are common, we do electronics/computer systems and communication engineering. In third and fourth year we specialise in what we want to do. I too am in my first year and haven't decided what stream I want to go into. We still have some time to decide I guess.

Heaven does suck, but they get all the internationals (thats all I go there for). I thought maybe they would get an international for the big launch, obviously not! (As long as it wasn't bloody 4 strings again!)

If they did get a "name" it woulda been a good end of exams thing (Blank and Jones last year had my final exam earlier that night - dragged all my rnb loving friends along, taught them a lesson about good music)

prolly be going to heaven on the 30th and surgery, being dragged along on wed, hopefully they do a launch party instead of the satanic shitewarp... should be out on wed to celebrate 5 months till next exams tho... lol...

heaven's got armand van helden... he's quite the international, not trance but still pretty cool...

Ahh thermodynamics my achilles heel!! Though i honestly didnt mind fluid dynamics (i guess im just strange!!)

Nope im at UNSW in Sydney... I was thinking of going to RMIT too but i got a scholarship up here, so it sort of made the decision for me!!

And im finished for this session!!! WOOHOO!!!!!! Well finished if you dont count all the work i have to do on my thesis and my final year design project over the holidays but well at least i have finished exams for this session!!! 6 months to go and im outta here!!!!!!!

Posted by G`Dave on Jun-29-2004 06:38:

Aerospace eng and a scholarship..... smart cookie.

I was thinking aerospace eng.. but I'd heard differing opinions about it so I went with the Bachelor of Eng. But, the option is there to change into it later if I change my mind

Posted by lethal on Jun-29-2004 07:10:

Aerospace is a great course but its a lot of hard work....

Theres also ZERO industry here in aus, so if you want to stay here in aus then dont do aero (i have no probs with this - you all smell!! ), also the industry is quite small so you do have to be passionate about it... If your not a complete aerospace junkie i do reccomend u study something else, having a mechanical degree (for example) will get you into a lot more positions then an aero degree...

On the other hand Aerospace rocks!!! And how cool is it to be able to say "Thats right baby, im a rocket scientist!!"
