I just got this one today on CD.
What a great album, me and a friend had it playing over and over at work tonight.
Saw these guys live a few months back, so happy I've now managed to find this album!
To those of you who haven't heard it (hope it's few
) their earlier Intensify album is also quite amazing.

I have it for about 2 months now, and very happy with it
Favo: Fear
Thanks a lot. We're trying real hard right now, and in the future. Eventually we want to cover pretty much everything. Again, thanks for all the positive feedback - it means a lot after all the long hard months of working with my staff.

| Originally posted by EverZ Thanks for the nice review, i have almost the same opinion, only i like Just Like a Man alot, ok there's not much emotion in the vocal and the track is very simple, but somehow i like it alot. When i listen to this album i always skip Don't Forget Me and Chasing Rainbows and i stop after Melt, i don't like those tracks, the rest is good. |
Extensive review, but I completely disagree with your assessment of "Northern Lights," featuring Ulrich Schnauss as a coproducer. Just picture in your mind the aurora borealis, and then tell me that technical trickery is "annoying." I can think of many things to describe it, but that is not one of them.
That coupled with the broken beat and arpeggios really do well in transporting the listener, so to speak. It's a slow builder, yes, but the layers are thick, and I would hardly qualify it as "minimal crap." I'll take it over screaming trance any day of the week. It actually existed in its original form as Traffic - "A#1" (WOW Mix) from 2001, which never saw an official release. I'm glad it surfaced in some fashion.

Fair enough, I will admit it does take it's time building, but the midsection keeps me thrilled.
HOLY FRIKKIN CHRIST!!! Me and a friend (big schnauss fans) were talking the other day about how Northern Lights seemed really Schnauss'ky and didn't really fit in that well on the album... I can't believe we missed that it IS Ulrich
That track would fit in much better on A Strangely Isolated Place ....
