I started to like trance music when i firs heard Chicane - Saltwater , and Antiloop . I kinda miss that old days , when i played a record tape at a party whit antiloop , and everyone started to jump in the house ..
Now I got deeper in trance , descovered the forums , searching for trance music everyday , and listening to it when im home .
I dont need drugs to love trance , because trance is my drug .
I've always liked EDM, but got properly mind-fucking addicted to it after I popped, and having discovered tranceaddict has just deepened the love.
maybe trance is a modern solution for the almost legendary 'music that makes you trip' what everyone looking for in the 60's.
but for me /trance, prog, edm- call it whatever you want/ music is a way of life, the tension, the sensation, the synasthesia. Can make you cry, can deliver the ulitmate euphoria and complete so called 'egodeath' - you everyone probably have had few of those moments when you are so 'high' from the music you wouldnt even care if you'd die the very next second because everything is just so... right.
about converting people .. i dont really do that but when people ask me about this kind of music i know something about i can babble for hours ;p and just recently we were working on a weekend in the office over a project with a collegue and we needed some background music. i should also mention he is a diehard rock and metal music fan - but to my surprise one of those open minded people. so he wanted me to put on some 'trance'. i dont remember what tunes i put on but they were a little more laidback and relaxed - not the peak hours crowdmurderers
after listening for a while he told me that this kind of music makes him really sad and alone kinda.. like walking alone in a big empty field - but sad and alone in a good way somehow - he couldnt describe it. then i put on some real hardcore peakhour tracks - FC's remix of adagio and the likes - you get the idea. and then i told him to imagine being in lets say a club with hundreds or thousands of persons who are just celebrating life, celebrating being together, FEELING the music. lets just say he was very impressed and said that he would come to a good clubnight with this music for sure. i didnt convert him - he still is a fan of rock and metal and the likes - now he just can appreciate good edm also - not the same way as i though
but still.
damn.. and i just wanted to say a few words...

Because there is true beauty with trance music. especially some of the great unique tunes that come out every year. The melodies and bass are complex unlike pop and rap music...Trance4Ever.

FEELINGS
because i can relax, dance, jump, fuck, get lost....every single (not many these days) tune brings out a feeling from me.
examples
megara - the megara, makes me melancholic, its a doleful tune...
blank & jones - cream, makes me extratension, like i've drink 10 espresso's.
solar stone - seven cities, makes me calm...
cygnus x - orange theme, makes me feel evil.
ayla - liebe, makes me happy.
the thrillseekers - synaesthesia, makes me get lost..
i cant dance with all tracks, even if others can, even if that track is one of my best, depends on the feeling i have for each track,
...and FUCK the drugs, the real funs get high with the music only, there's no need for drugs, if you want drugs to feel, then you cant feel at all, its all an illusion.
you know what i mean or maybe i should visit a shrink?
yea, im addicted to trance
. when about to go to sleep but then i hear a certain part of tht track, I have to stay awake just to hear the whole song cuz its tht good. Trance Vs sleep?, Advantage Trance always.
Because it rules...lol
I'm addicted to good music (any genre, not only trance) cus it mess with my feelings and emotions, well I can't define, it's like try find a definition of love... is something you feel and take with you, in your heart...
I like music and music like me.

I'm addicted to trance because it's the only kind of music that sends shivers down my back... because I get butterflies in my stomach just thinking about blasting it... because it's the only type of music that when I'm excited to head home for break to see everyone, it makes me drive past home so that I can listen to it for a couple more hours...
And "addicted" really is the only word. I listen to it non-stop, 24/7 (I know, like many others have said
) and I never get tired of it.
Like someone else said in this thread, I obviously didn't grow up on trance, but I also loved other types of music before this, but never nearly as much as trance. Trance just seemed to have everything that other types of music lacked, in the search for the more powerful, moving music.
I'm also an INTJ and think the same thing. I have weird ways of describing things (that makes sense if you know me, according to friends
) but trance is just so logical, and productive... maybe that'll mean something to someone else.
I used to try to convert people also, since I knew of only one other friend that loved trance. In the end I found that it was better for them to just get used to it by hanging out with me (since I listen to it all the time, lol) and most of the people I know ended up at least being able to enjoy it.
Sometimes I wish I had an mp3 player so I could listen to it when I'm walking to class, or even in class, but whenever I don't have music playing around me, it seems to literally blast in my head, and no other kind of music has done that before. Of course I'd prefer it to be blasting from the speakers, but when that's not around, the music in my head seems to get me groovin...
I've always tried to analyze my personal musical history, and of course why trance fits me. It just seems like such an obvious choice, really. Everything about it is just amazing.
i think it's partially because trance addicts are more technology savvy (because you really have to be to have full exposure to trance in the first place...at least in the US) and are ABLE to listen to trance 24/7?.....maybe?
and the shivers down your spine......that is an amazing feeling considering it only comes from audio stimulation. i've only gotten it with trance music and SOMETIMES a very good breaks track will do it to me.
and i'll throw out there that trance can make you feel powerful emotions that you WISH were a part of your daily life. (cue YOU PUSSY flaming)
