Looks like you are no better than me. The difference between us is my so called hate is directed at only you and yours is unleashed on any member of TA at any random moment for absolutely no reason. His post did not warrant a response like that from you yet you wouldn't be "spec" if you didn't come back with something showing your ass. Your whole argument in here is doing nothing but passing judgment again. You tell people that they are brainwahsed. How the fuck would you know? You have spent time with every single person in all the militaries across the world? Of course not. Go back and read that thread that you posted in that no one at any point in time should have other people pass judgment on them. Hypocrite.

Thanks for getting my back Amber... I do find it curious that spec hasn't replied to my defense on this matter. I guess I hit a nerve?

Oh, and that "kitten-torturing" article, although disturbing, can't really justify or prove brainwashing of the military. How many non-military people have done simliar or worse things? I could probably use that as an argument that everyone should go into the military - couldn't I? (Which I don't believe, of course).

Anyway, thanks for the support. *grin*

You are very welcome. Anytime.

It's no different than when celebrities (actor, entertainers, athletes, etc) do something and eveyone stands around with their mouths wide open going "I can't believe he/she did that!". It happens all the time, but you just don't hear about it because it is something going on in someone's town and not the whole world gives a shit like they do when it is a celebrity or invovles the military. People love gossip and if they can't do anything with the gossip then they are less likely to care. You are going to have good and bad all over the world in all walks of life. Just become there are a few bad apples doesn't mean the whole lot is bad. Simple minded thinking. If a man rapes a woman or molests a child does that mean all men are bad? Should I fear every man that roams this planet because of the mindless acts of others?

Those still with mental walls up that ignore the truth, read te following:

SAS man jailed for plan to bash pregnant woman

A former SAS soldier will have to spend at least 10 months behind bars for his part in a plan to bash a pregnant woman so she would miscarry.

The decorated corporal served in Afghanistan, Iraq and East Timor.

Grant Murray Rushby admitted his part in the plan to assault the woman, who was carrying the baby of another SAS soldier.

The District Court in Perth was told Rushby initially did not know the woman was pregnant but when he found out, he felt he was in too deep to withdraw.

The plan was uncovered by police investigating an unrelated matter and the assault never took place.

District Court Chief Judge Antoinette Kennedy described the offence as completely bizarre, saying no-one could understand why a man with such a distinguished and successful career would take part in such a plan.

She sentenced Rushby to 20 months in jail and ordered that he serve half before being eligible for parole.

Rushby's lawyer, Mark Andrews said outside the court that he agreed with a suggestion from the judge that the Australian Army examine the training it gives its soldiers.

Chief Judge Antoinette Kennedy noted that a number of SAS soldiers had been in trouble and she wondered if it had anything to do with their training.

Mr Andrews agreed that the Army should examine what it is doing.

"They probably do need to address the psychological debriefing that officers undertake when they leave a theatre of war," he said.

"I'm not the expert but our psychological evidence suggested that may well have been beneficial in this case."

It seems Floorfiller was at the top of the list of intelligent and deep replies that take into account other people's opinions, yearh, not likely. And yeah, if I was in Vail, you'd need an army.

And Clovis86, was that meant to be a joke or comedy? I'd stick to being a dickhead, you are better at it.

And my best pal trancebrat, another typically standard reply full of hate and frustration. You know you love to fight and put people down, I've seen it many times, and honestly it gets a little old after a while. How about stop the insults and just have a mature debate, oh yeah, thats right, you can't!

And openminded accepting Seventil, come up with a decent argument with at least one intelligent point and I will grace it with a reply.

I love to fight and put people down?! Wow! You have me so figured out. You're a damn genius! Hmmm...where is a picture of a damn pot when I need one? I don't put people down. Get it right. I put you down. No insults have ever been posted by you...right?

I already told you...I don't want to have a mature debate with you. I want to debate with you just like you do with everyone on here (with the exception of maybe one or two people).

You got old after your first post on TA.

It's in print...it must be true! Didn't you know that? The media is never wrong! We all should live and die by the media! It is the Bible of the people!

I just tore into Cyrus King for blatantly attacking me because of my beliefs. I'm sorry but nothing will come close to the accuracy of the Bible (which in itself is a whole other thread). Spec your trolling is getting tired, stop attempting to play the victim.

No one is attacking the Bible here. My post was simply sarcasm.

You first, big guy. Your off-the-wall articles of current or former military people commiting immoral and evil crimes is not going to convince anyone with an ounce of common sense that the reason they did these things is because of military brainwashing.

I could use your same illogical argument to say this: Charles Manson killed 30 people brutally (whatever his actual number was). He was never in the military. If he would have had military training and dicipline, he may have never committed these terrible crimes. Everyone should be in the military!

See how stupid that comment sounds? That's how you sound, spec. Give me some actual statistical proof that people that are in the military or former military commit more crimes than people who aren't. Ahh, you can't? I'll tell you why: IT'S THE OTHER WAY AROUND. That's right - people that serve in the military or have in their life are LESS LIKELY to a. Have a criminal past (since you can't get into most armed forces with one) and are MORE LIKELY to not have any criminal offences when they are done. Does that make sense? It does to me.

The only thing you've done in this thread is successfully plead your bigotry-ridden remarks and lose a lot of respect from people may or may have not known your prior to this. I suggest moving to an Amish community or maybe joining some anarchy cult where senseless drivel like you've expressed here might actually be welcome. Most likely though, they'll probably ignore you, which is what should have been doing the moment you registered on this board.

Posted by torontotrance on Aug-16-2004 00:16:

Nah Manson would have done it anyway, he was what society terms a sociopath and you cannot change those people.

Yeah good point, imagine how bad Charles Manson would have been if he in fact had been in the army! He would have probably killed thousands!!!

It seems you continue to fail to address the real point by getting wound up by generalisations, yeah people in the army commit less crimes, yes, because they are away most of the time you idiot.
