I would recommend him very highly! I brought him to my Football Manager 2005 Barcelona team, and the guy's been amazing with Etoo up front and Ronaldinho in a supporting role.

If any of you play football manager, I recommend you pick him up; young, highly skillful and immense future value.

add this name to long list of possible new players for barca...

Vincenzo Iaquinta from Udinese

I just switched to Football Manager 2005 so haven't been in the game too far... but in the previous Championship Manager my starters were

............Navarro...............Reyes

.............................................................Saviola

Rustu....Wes Brown.....Hargreaves............Ronaldinho----->

............Mario............................................Kanoute

............Puyol(c)..............Quaresma

Cups I had won:
1st year) La Liga (18 points ahead with 5 or so games to spare!)
2nd Year) La Liga, Champ League
3rd Year) La Liga, European Super Cup (cup and champ league finalist)

That formation worked wonders for me. Team settings were "attacking" down both flanks. I snapped up Reyes on a free as his contract was not protected - best damn buy!

I think the key is to give each players their specific settings and set a good training schedule. Try to play each player like they do in real life. Ronaldinho-free role, attacking, no defending etc. Puyol-attacking mentality, lots of through balls, crossing etc (and always captain!).

this is my current side dede and mendieta are wind backs pushing forward, depending on my opponents i withdraw a centre half and operate a defensive midfielder or play with a front three.Sometimes normally play flat back four with defensive mid

Who is mario?

Messi for Barca the young Argentinian is real good look out for him in the future. Yesterdays match against Sociedad was great, love the way Barca is playing now and cant wait til Chelsea v Barca.

Ronaldinho's vision last night was incredible but when isnt it

It wasn't great at all. If Nihat didn't misses 2 big changes because of the good job of Valdez Barca had lost. They have to play a lot better if they want to win against Chelsea. The last 5 matches inclusive Ajax weren't that good. I love Barca but they need to get te form back from 2 months ago.

It is a well known hallmark of a championship side if they can play poorly and still win!

Posted by The_G0dfather on Jan-19-2005 21:33:

I just hope they survive their 2 games against Chelsea in the Champions League, after that, anything is possible.

Posted by fastmp3 on Jan-19-2005 23:15:

it's gonna be a crucial phase for barca , if they win chelsea , they'll win both the CL and the championship , otherwise it's gonna be a fucked up year

After a midnight bid, Maxi Lopezs stay in Benfica is no longer a reality. He will now be on the stage to place his name among the European elite.

According to Argentine newspaper, La Nacion, and Spanish daily As, River Plate has approved Barcelonas offer of 6.2 million for the young forward. The team will formally accept the offer and he will be introduced at the Nou Camp on Tuesday.

This transaction is a great step for me, to see players like Ronaldinho on television and to now play alongside them gives me goosebumps, said the
soon-to-be former Millonarios striker.

Guess Ill get the shirt Wednesday then

yeah baby

Posted by leoDAone on Jan-26-2005 01:25:

Im glad to see you guys are happy for the signning of Maxi Lopez,im a huge River Plate fan and im very upset of seeing him go.I wanted him to atleast stay for the COPA LIBERTADORES then depart to europe. But im happy for him as its another great player leaving River to one of the most important clubs in the world.

Now seriously how many of you think he will play right away? I really hope they give him a chance.Maybe they will bring him in and then have him play in a smaller team so he can adjust to the soccer played in Spain.I wonder if Rikjard has him in his plans. The reason I say this is because of what happen to Saviola, the kid would score alot and was the only thing Barca had going last year when things werent looking to bright for Barca and yet send him to Monaco.Another case would be Riquelme, whom to me is an exceptional player and really never had a chance to prove himself and now I read somewhere that he would be sold instead of returnning when his "prestamo" is over with Villareal.

Not for nothing I wouldve had perfered for Maxi to go to a smaller team knowing he will get more playing time then what he might get in Barca knowing that they exceed alot and if performence not shown right away can result to be benched or even traded away.

One more thing,Rikjard perfered to contract Albertini over Masherano. what do you guys think?

Posted by fastmp3 on Jan-26-2005 04:13:

hola leo que tal ?

i agree with you that it's a shame Riquelme is on loan , but as i said before i really don't see him right now in Rijkaard's scheme i don't want them to sell him , that would be the stupidest thing ever !

i heard it's Mascherano who didn't wanna join Barca , i might be wrong ... as for Albertini i think his friendship with Rijkaard has a lot of things to do with his transfer
