| Originally posted by George Kendall I know plenty about it, why do you think labels are turning to putting downloads up at promon stage? (eg, ozgur can's 'reclaim ep') the paranoia is funny, hasn't haak's frenzy just had a massive armada release? dispite being all over the net/these forums over a year ago? didn't the exact same thing happen with masters and nickson? I think so, these were full tracks too. I know loads of big label owners, not one of them has even considered not signing tracks due to a 128k SAMPLE or 96kbps FULL track with faded beginnings and endings being floated on the net, if anything it will create a buzz and influence a label to pick it up, which is what has happened in many cases. by posting a 32kbps mp3 on these forums, you're just taking the piss. if a dj has been playing a 96kbps mp3 of your track, the 1st thing you do is email/call them telling them they are a fool and if they do it again, without permission, action will be taken....then, you laugh, because someone really must be sad & pathetic to play an mp3 live of that quality in a set. people just need to chill and stop being so uptight. |
george: it mainly has to do with the hype of tracks.
if a track gets to much exposure to early then people just wont rush to buy it as much as if the hype procedure would have gone as planned. So in other words, if the label know that it's out in high qual it prolly won't be as easy to get signed.
now there is of course cases where it has ended up well like with frenzy for example but there are also examples of when it hasn't been a good thing (if I'm not remembering all wrong i think zgur fell victim for this when one of his tracks were leaked. I'm not 100% shure about it tho)
well anyway I guess you get what I mean.
ahh finally The Genie song is what it should have been from the start
This piece is much better then the original

| Originally posted by George Kendall yes fair enough, theres also vandit too, they seem to be successful enough, even after holding back some releases for years...it really doesn't matter anywhere near enough as people believe. and yea I know what you're saying jezper, however to post a track here in 32kbps or to post a tiny sample in 192kbps where as you said yourself, you get nothing is taking the piss a little. Anyways like you say you could fade in and out the 1st and last minutes or put a vocoded copyright in there so people cannot play the track. |
Let people post in what bitrate they'd like and what length they want, I say. If you don't like it, then don't listen to the song, or don't give any comment on it. Airbase obviously knows that he would get more listens if he posts the whole tune in good quality, but he's already said that he is not interested in doing so. Then be fine with that, respect his decision.
Vizay and Airbase points it out. I agree, and I don't feel like discussing it further.
Anyway, I like the sound of it so far. Not really my taste, but it sounds very complete and well mastered imo.
Actually, the more I listen to it, the more I like it.
Keep up the good work!

I like the main lead, and how everything is packed togheter nicely. It's pretty repetitive, but that's just me ! Nice FX and stuff like that. The production itself sounds pro. Just too repetitive for me.
