He called me a n00b and I typed "lmao". Please explain to me what I meant by that. Not what it would mean had you typed it. Wait you can't, because you're not me. It's tiring trying to explain every word I type to people who decide they can detect all sorts of feeling, emotions, and tones through the internet.

When did I say I was oldschool? What's wrong with you people anyway? First putting your own meaning behind my words, now putting words into my mouth? Get a grip.

Considering the attitude you displayed towards him after that particular incident, it's easily taken for granted that your "uber"-comment was dripping with sarcasm, and that you were trying to show him up by saying "hey, you heard of these oldschool artists before?". You can argue that this was never your intention all you want, but ultimately that's the impression you're giving off, like certain other comments in this thread have proven.

WAAAAHHHH fucking WWWAAHHHHH...

now. on with the subject.

cafe del mar is awesome...especially john 00 fleming remix...that's just me though.

let's see...i thought southern sun (all remixes) was very overrated.

oh yea and that one song that goes, "DUUUN....DUN DUN DUN DUN...dun dun dun dun DDUUUUUUN..."

no but seriously what's that song w/ the male vocals that sound echoish and the end of the verse (can't understand the first part) says, "and she smiled at youuuuuuuuuuu boooyyyyyyyyy". it's OK, but i mean didn't knock my socks of or anything. crowds seem to go wild if that song is played.

Oakenfold - Southern Sun (Tiesto remix)
Motorcycle - As the rush comes
Nalin & Kane - Beachball
Tiesto - Adagio for strings

I'm not responsible for what statements of mine you choose to misconstrue. The simple reason for "lmao" was because I thought it was funny that he calls someone he obviously hasn't even gotten an accurate impression of a n00b.

Posted by Slylee on Oct-12-2004 17:50:

oh yea, beachball too! don't see what all the hype is about.

"as the rush comes" still gives me chills every time though. i love it.

The Youngsters - Smile (Sasha Edit)

You are when I have provided evidence based on your posts and other people's interpretations of them regarding what intention they give off.

And that exact reason is why most people would have a hard time believing that your "innocent question" was as innocent as you would have me believe. Is that really so hard to get?

So far your evidence is based on misconstrued interpretations. So I would hold that it isn't evidence at all but rather severely biased opinion.

So I went from being jovial to animosity in the span of a post or two? How does me thinking his ignorance toward my personage is funny translate into me wanting to contest my music l33tness against his? Simply because someone is ignorant in one respect does not mean they are ignorant in every other way or that I think I automatically know more about something else that he obviously has more experience with.

It may be misconstrued, but if it is, your own posts' wording is to blame.

Yeah, you may be an idiot, but at least i'm the one to blame for that.

Seriously though, like I said, there is nothing I typed here that could be said as me wanting to have a contest unless you try to connect imaginary dots that were never there in the first place. Taken at face value...read without thinking about any subversiveness behind my words, what I wrote is pretty friendly and companionable.

Or, maybe you need to word your posts more carefully. As you have noticed, I'm not the only "idiot". The rest of your post is pretty much the same thing you've been repeating like a mantra for the last 3-4 posts, and I really can't be bothered to repeat myself again.

That's the problem with a lot of people these days. Taking what I said, imagining what it would mean if THEY said it, then announcing that what they would have meant is what I meant. This makes them idiots.

I don't see how I can get more friendly to the guy than I already was. Do I have to call him "gods gift to trancekind" to make my nicety clear to you? LIke a mantra...it's true whether you realize it or not. You have to learn to look at the internet of all places objectively. By the way the only person i'll word my posts more carefully for is a moderator.

But I think we've both made our points. Me, that if someone were to objectively look at my posts toward the guy they would see no contest. You, that some people moronically assume hidden meaning behind my words. Is there really a conflict there?

Hello. I don't really know why you're addressing me, but i'll bite. See, someone cared or else thread would have contained a lot less posts.

Just curious, but what are you basing this on? And who is "everybody?"

I was referring to Out Of The Blue in the last two sentences of that post. I think Carte Blanche is one of Ferry's (and VdM's) greatest. But given how I worded things, I can see how it might have gotten confused.

I'll stay clear of the fights here. Personally I don't care if others like what I listen to, I like it and that brings me enjoyment.
