There's actually several full pictures of that thing online. You see, in the Source engine, anything that is shown on a monitor like that is being "filmed" somewhere on the map in realtime. So during the final leve, if you turn on noclip you can fly around outside the map walls and find that thing, fully modeled and textured.

I'm too lazy to go find the picture but basically, it's a large slug type creature with mechanical legs/arms. It's called a Combine Advisor.

You don't say. Goddamn, this game gets better and better.

Basically, what has been gathered so far is that they're completely dependent on their technology. Current theories suggest that they invaded Xen previously, enslaved the Vortigaunts and placed Nihilath in control (much as Breen is in control of Earth). They use the dominant species of the planet (Vorts in HL1, CP's in HL2) as guards, since they're already adapted to the environment. This is all mostly speculation at this point, but it makes sense.

i just wanna know what the hell the gman is... he's got something to do with the vorts as well as that colonel cabbage or whatever his name is.

Posted by sleepydragon on Dec-01-2004 02:16:

personally i think the g man will turn out to be the bad guy ull end up killing him in the end.

There is a unlikely theory going round that the g man might be gordon freeman from the future.

I doubt the g-man is gordon in the future. Btw, here's a cool timeline

Someone did a speedrun of the game, It was finished at 2 hours, 57 minutes and 35 seconds, You can watch the video of the entire speedrun of the game here, But be warned, If any of you haven't beaten this game, Don't watch the video as its the entire game from start to finish.

problem with those speed run things is normally the guy uses a rom/emulater combo thing to pause the game and save wherver and splice it together, like the mario one. there was also a Half-Life 1 done this way as well

Actually, Acording to the site, The demo recordings were converted to AVI format, And I believe the files were joined together, But the game can still be done in 2 hours regardless if you were to play it all the way thru nonstop.
