I dont hate the guy, never did, hes the second DJ that i fell in love with (Sasha came first, hence why i was mind blown when Sean Miller played Xpander....imo, the greatest trance production, OF ALL TIME.) Dont gimme "real tijs fans will always love him" BULLSHIT. Real fans give constructive criticism for their idols to improve. I still love the guy, ive got some live sets theyre amazing, top notch, but im NOT liking his current productions. As a DJ, yeh mon, he kicks ass still in my top 6 favs (Oakenfold will always be my #1 , the rest i just dont know, theyre equally good i suppose?) |

So what your really saying is: Oakey will always be my #1.............cuz I'm a real fan and will always love him Isn't that what you called earlier as a BULSHIT line? That's confusing IMO Oakey sold out a long time ago........but then I don't profess to be his devoted fan, so I suppose my constructive criticism doesn't count in your eyes. Let peace be with you dude |

just got back in to rochester and what can i say ... the vibe at the docks was just unbeleivable ... sean miller played a gr8 warm up and when tiesto hit the decks the place just went nuts ... tiestos set was good but nothing special ... i thought his mixing was very good considering his recent history for trainwrecking... he dropped some quality tunes (yahel voyage being the tune of the night for me) a few of which really got me going and bad enough to catch some ta's mocking my dance moves out the corner of my eye .. i thought that was pretty funny but cmon guys cut me some slack here ....
it was nice to meet up with some of the ta's ... tatgirl, rabbitjoker, vertigo, starsearcher and ofcourse partEgurl and her crew btw linz thanks a ton for hookin us up with the tickets, doubt this nite would have happened otherwise .....
the coatcheck was a huge disappointment, it took like some 40 mins to check in and another 40 to check out and one of my friends glasses got stolen from his coat ... and watching the people go at each others throats wen tijs was throwing in autogrpahed flyers was absolutely disgraceful ..looool guys snatching them out of girls hands and screaming its mine and im not giving it to no1
... i just stood by on the side hoping one would come my way but not happening on this nite ... ah well toronto parties seldom disappoint and this definately was not one of them ... tiesto played from 1245 till 715 and thats not something we see to often in north america... i take back my earlier comment that i wouldnt be surprised if he spins less than 6
Good times had- best part was hanging with the TA's / friends along to some awesome tunes.
Gonna try to keep it brief...
Positives:
- AMAZING opening set from Sean Miller. "Expander" totally owned!
- Free Rev for patrons, & free shots from Techead for the TA's (very sweet of you)
- Good, fun crowd
- Clean womens washrooms, no waiting
- Wore only a sweatshirt going in, easily tied around the waste, hence avoiding the coat check disaster.
- Meeting lots of TA's, and seeing many that haven't been out in a long time.
- Great looking dancers / costumes (aside from some really overdone boob jobs)
- Seeing fans that have come from great distances to see him. Holland, Miami, Vancouver to name a few.
- really liked the upper level room, tho I only saw it for 5 seconds on the tour.
- the liquid nitrogen cool down system. Too bad it wasn't used much after Tiesto went on (ok, it's noisy), but wondered why it wasnt nearly as powerful as they are at other clubs?
- thx to Caroline (muzzybear) for hosting the pre and post hangout.
Negatives:
- Crowd chanting for Tiesto for at least an hour of Sean Miller's set. Just plain rude. Sean was rocking the house- they shoulda appreciated that on its own.
- Bad placement of DJ booth. I mean it looks great, but it's not condusive for viewing. It should have been on the stage, so the whole length of the club could view him, not just the people in the center. Which leads to my next complaint...
- BAD placement of that platform- it should be removed.
- Would've liked for video coverage of Tiesto on the monitors. The only place with some dancing room was to the side of the booth, where we had no view, but a video screen was above our heads, mostly showing scenes from Bollywood movies, lol. No view of the booth = having difficulty of feeling the energy from the DJ. It wasn't til the club cleared out around 5am where I could move onto the dance floor finally.
- Sound- thought it was pretty muffled.
- Scary packed on the dance floor in front of the booth when Tijs started. Had to claw to get out.
- Crazed Tiesto fans mauling each other for autographed flyers and for destroying the headphones & record that was tossed out. What a waste...
- Not remembering about 5 people who came up to me to say hi, but I still end up playing it off. Some I recognised their faces, but couldn't place them, others I just had no clue. I feel soooo bad how everyone remembers me (& by name), and sometimes I just blank.
Can't do any shoutouts (to many to name) but you guys rock!! really nice to see Che & Wurm again.
Also really sad the headphones didn't go your way, Starsearcher. I was there, waiting to help catch them for u. Good thing we didn't- sounds like we would've been mauled.
^yes, totally agreed, when sean miller was on, i really wanted him to continue and the "Ti-es-to, Ti-es-to" was sooooooooo rude, i felt bad for the guy, id like to see him sometime again, he knows his choons, ex; Xpander was a complete shocker....i love him for that (L)
Rich Raiban: watch for me buying the LP vinyl...ive got the EP on CD, but i want MORE!
Sound, yeah, not the greatest, i couldnt make out all the melodies...
Starsearcher totally deserved the headphones tho
kamil, chill out dude.
a dj's job isnt just to spin new tracks. you contradict yourself in saying its so good to spin some classics from a years ago yet if he spins some "newer/old" as in 3-6 months its garbage(as in hes not doing his job properly)
gimme a break.
a good song is a good song and just because you dont like his new stuff doesnt mean everyone doesnt.
Sometimes you grow into liking some stuff as Im sure you know .
songs dont become classics from not being played after 3 months
A set with the well placed classic track is not the same as hour after hour of anthems.
I love hearing the odd track I can ID, but I get bored as hell when a DJ is playing records that half the crowd already OWNS.
Tiesto gets probably 30 or 50 promos a week from all over the world - it's sad when TOTA can ID 80% of his set.

This was the best TRANCE set i have ever heard. Thanks to VERTigo, Playa24_7, dancingqween169, and STEVE for such am amazing night!!!! This is going to be a night to remember for the rst of my life!!!!!
I meet so many TA's in there from the start. You guys are amazing people and great to party with. I don't think I could ask anymore from the night. Around 4 am I started to get really drained for some reason....but about an hr later I was full of energy again. I danced with such passion and love for the music. Trance is the most emotional music ever.
Well that is all I have for now....
I LOVE U TIESTO!!!!!!!!

** WARNING **
these pics contain images of some really messy looking people.
alot of people want to hear their faves...just as some want to hear fresh material many would have been disappointed if they didn't recongnize 80 percent of what they were hearing....

| Originally posted by Jayx1 I seriously would have turned the music off. gotten on the mike and said "RELAX, TIESTO WILL BE HERE SHORTLY" just to make a point. Some people have NO respect. |

but imo it wasnt hour after hour of well known athems..if you sit and download music all day or go buy the lastest everyday and thats all you do, then quite possibly some of that stuff was "old".
and imo you contradicted yourself. but I guess we dont really need to get into this.
we both enjoyed the show!
and my definition of dj is different then yours.
I didnt really have an issue with chanting.
Im not saying I agree with it, but theres really nothing you can do about it. I think thats something all "small" time dj's,bands etc have to go through.
small time or big time when you are on the decks you should not be subjected to disrespect.
If I had been there i seriously would have gotten enough people together and started chanting MILL-ER MILL-ER half way in Tiesto's set just to make fun of the tiesto fans.
