War Report
Location: Thread #242-abc
Once again the battle cry was heard as the mutually opposed forces gathered in this new thread to do battle.
Both sides seem fresh from recent stalemates. Everyone is hoping that this will be the one where one side is declared a victor. But with infinite troop reserves on either side a decisive victory seems unlikely.
But here it is the last Hooray... with the ASOT battlefield leaving where will the new battle erupt? Recent satelitte imagery suggest that both sides will reinforces their positions in Miami.
Rest assured this reporter will be there to bring you all the highlights in this fascinating war of perspective.
Best news I've heard all year! Great news for Armin too, maybe he'll be more selective with his track selection now.

So i'd just like to let everyone on here know that, the forum's spam fairy has officially given me the name 'CockSucker' ooh ooh and 'Lazy Twat'...
Either of the above will suffice when talking directly to me
This has been an interesting read. Especially the 3rd and 4th pages as they are really the most productive ones.
I wont deny that i was\am lazy. Then again i wont imply that i know everything in the trance\EDM scene. Which is why i like a little guidance. Asot and GDJB, and live at Cafe Schonenberg (sp?) as well as the odd essential mix.. all provided me with that.
Why? Cause they're mainstream, easily obtained, and have a good audience who can dicuss the music productively (usually).
Anyway, i'll agree and i'm guessing some of you are in the same boat. I don't believe i have the skills, or knowledge to find a bunch of a good songs out there. Why?(again..) Because there's so much stuff out there. And i'm not going to crawl through every sample on htfr, or any other record store to see if i like a certain tune.
I like have some of my work cut out for me. It makes it more enjoyable when i can listen to what someone else might think is good, but maybe disagree myself.
Obviously certain members (cough) think they're hot shit because they bash everything which gains any kind of mass attention.
Anyway they're just my views.. I'll hopefully enjoy whatever hits the scene next.

That's really quite sad and also quite funny. Contrary to what you seem to think, it is not THAT hard to discover new and decent music. You just have to have to know how to properly go about it.
If you like a certain dj/producer, go down thru that person's discovery and find out other tunes he/she produced and try to listen to them somewhere. You can then take it another step further. Since many tunes have remixes, give them a listen and if you like it, check out the discovery of the remixer and their releases. This way, you can jump around pretty easily and discover new music in an instant. Also, look at the record labels. Most likely if you enjoy a release on say, Bedrock, you will probably enjoy more tunes put out by the Bedrock label and sublabels. Once you do find out about more artists, go to Discogs and find any different aliases being produced under. It is so simple to network and connect different artists/dj's/producers this way, and your musical scope will develop and widen.
The other thing worth mentioning is downloading, which REALLY does help to find new and interesting tunes. You can believe that if you want and I most certainly do, but please no comments here from the anti-mp3 crusaders. Discogs and SoulSeek are all I need.

It's a joke, Armin is a joke, he's so stuck on trying to be the #1 DJ he's lost all pride. To anyone who claims tunes played on ASOT don't sound the same; try to look past your bias. 'Til then I have nothing to say to you. |

) . Just because you believe ASOT to be a joke, doesnt mean it actually is a joke. Making generalisations that all ASOT listeners cant be bothered to look elsewhere and live in their own world where there taste doesnt mean anything isnt fact, but simply something that you alone believe

Don't know - never listened to ASOT. Although a lot of the tunes are boring, and some are good. I don't have a problem with your opinions, its the way you go about it that really fucks me off.
I'm such a cool progressive trance listener look at me im bashing armin.
Also i dont like Armins songs in general.
Also - i dont only listen to mcprog which ive assummed that you've assumed
.
I am open to all forms of EDM - had the Goa and IDM on today
