Exactly. I used to be just like you, DA, but then I found Breaks and Progressive and all that other shit. Now trance takes a back seat. Don't get me wrong, I still pay tribute to my roots but I'm much more open now and I like what I've found.

As for the expanding horizons discussion, I remember back when I listened exclusively to trance, I wasn't a huge elitist but perhaps a bit of one, and three things made me change my mind:

Discovering what house actually was (I'd been listening to progressive trance, and that's what put me to sleep)
Learning to dance (house, especially tribal, is so so right for getting your groove on)
House event vibe is friendlier. Period.

Just some food for thought... it's not like a tiger changing its stripes, none of us were listening to trance when we were 3 years old (it didn't even exist back then). Stick with any one thing too long and you'll eventually get sick of it... add some variety and you'll appreciate the individual parts much more.
