Well, we pretty much have Montreal, all of West Africa (Sierra Leone, Senegal, Liberia, Cote D'Ivoire), Haiti, Brazil, and several countries in Central America (Honduras, Belize etc)...It's the battle of the insects...loser gets stepped on

my uncle went to ivory coast when he was 12 years old (yes twelve fuckin' years old) to work for the rest of the family !! he came back to morocco after 20 or 30 years (donno exactly) with a shitload of money ... a self made man !

my aunt and her husband used to live there too , they had a nice life and both of their sons were born there , but they had to leave in 1990 or 91 i think , they had to leave everything back there

That's a whole other can of worms. Both parties are somewhat to blame. The host countries that accept these immigrants have to make sure that they have massive integration programs to readily assimilate these waves of migrants...on the flip side, the immigrants must want to integrate...quite tragic to a certain extent...

Well, I'm sure he worked hard, but I tend to be suspicious/skeptical about Arabs going to West Africa and getting rich a la self-made man image (no disrespect to your uncle of course). Lebanese in particular tend to control the entire economy of these countries because they have a monopoly on trade. They can do whatever they want with prices, and tend to NEVER re-invest locally...sucking resources, both material and human, out of the country and never reinvesting domestically is anathema to economic growth, and the result is often uprising and war by the local population.
