interesting qualifying session, not much to choose between the frontrunners..

looking forward to the race

i wonder where you can overtake, though, at Imola..

For the ppl in the US, what channel/time is the race on, live?
I checked SpeedTV.com will air it at 12. Is the race at 8am EST or at 12? I'm fuckin' confused...

Posted by TOR on Apr-24-2005 14:52:

good race, what a comeback by Michael Schumacher

such a shame for Raikkonen, though, he looked supreme in the first few laps.. would have been great to see him participate in that final battle as well.

Posted by noikeee on Apr-24-2005 15:10:

fucking. awesome. race.

one of M Schumacher's best comebacks in his career, and Alonso still manages to hold a 2 seconds per lap faster Ferrari for 10 laps. classic!

monteiro last placed after 4 pitstops

Posted by The_G0dfather on Apr-24-2005 16:50:

didnt see the race but i'm glad that shumi raced well, on to the next one where he should start winning now

I just finished watching it, and man, the last few laps were pretty close
I think Schumi is gonna start winning some races, giving Alonso a hard time. The end of the season should be really close, even though it's so far away

Posted by Eddie N MIAMI on Apr-25-2005 01:23:

wow awesome race
Alonso did a great job holding off michael, legendary last couple of laps. Also cool was this was the first race this year showed here in the states on a National tv network CBS rather than the cable network speedvision, and theyll show the next race on CBS too.

Posted by Hanki on Apr-25-2005 13:43:

It was great to watch Schumacher "fighting" with Alonso. But it's good that the Renault man won this one, this season is much more interesting because of that, not just Schumi and Schumi...

Posted by Quantized on Apr-26-2005 01:59:

hmmm, i have a feeling that Michael's gonna start kicking ass from the next race onward...

His car was lapping 2 secs faster than the renault/honda for quite a while which is pretty insane.

The fight at the end was quite entertaining, Alonso did really good to keep ahead of shumi.

Posted by jeronemango on Apr-26-2005 05:52:

seems buttons car was underweight during the stewards inspection and he might be stripped of the points..

Posted by dchaves on Apr-26-2005 08:50:

Great race indeed. I don't like Schumi, but he drove like the champion he is and made the race interesting to see. The only bad point where the marshalls with the blue flags, they acted very different with Schumacher tan the other drivers.

And for the 727282939303022th time Kimmi broke his car. It would be interesting see him finishing at least one race in he whole season, he is (IMO) the best driver in the F1, but has the worst luck ever

Posted by Spad on Apr-26-2005 13:10:

I don't buy for a second that Kimi had a good pace, blatently light on fuel if you ask me.

Annoyance of the day had to be ITV going for an ad break with 3 laps to go and returning on the final lap Showing the laps we missed after the race has finished doesn't really make up for it.

Excellent race, pity the rest of the season's going to be about Shu :/

Dunno about that. Yeah, that new Ferrari is a jet by the looks of it, but don't rule out Renault, and McLaren have some new go fast bits that are gonna be put on next race too, apparently they are really effective.

Posted by Trance Nutter on Apr-26-2005 13:38:

may be a bit too early to tell but if Ferrari can match that pace for the rest of the season then Renault are going to have to settle for being best of the rest. Reliability could come into the equation though, Alonso looks like he's not going to have any problems finishing every race high in the points.

Too early to make predicitons of course, but past history shows that Ferrari usually take a while to get into the season but once Shui has a fast car under him the others are just racing for #2.

Was at this GP one of the best I have attended what a race. Ferrari is back!! SCHUMI!! And my renault boys are killing the rest of the teams. So happy about Mclaren having a very bad start. Oh and Eddie another great and proud day for Montoya and his fans

Posted by TheVrk on Apr-27-2005 23:06:

Will be an INCREDIBLE season now that Ferrari is back....
FULL credit to Alonso tho who stood his ground.
Toyota STILL doing well.....
