Before the season even started, I knew right away that Cubs were gonna have a bad year. So far, it seems like its not as bad as I thought it would be. I expect them to finish 20-30 games below .500 for the year.

Never thought, however, that Astros would be the league's worst road team at this time of the year. Worth a good laugh. Two teams that beat my Braves in the past 2 years in playoffs are now up in smoke. Revenge ....

Oh, hehe, now that I think of it ... Phillies beat Braves in 1992 NLCS and they havent been as good since. Even Giants .... Diamondbacks too ... The Curse of beating the Braves, bwahaha ...

My bad ... my memory is screwing around with me again. How could I mix those years up, bwah. Yesterday I couldn't even call home cause I forgot the phone number. Too much stress, I guess ...

116 more games to go pal. We know you're scared. I would be.

Yankees have won 14 out of 16. But not that trends count for anything right?

They are a half game back of Boston and started the year 11-19.

Dusty is doing a great job killing those young arms as it is i think it is time to move kerry wood to the closer spot while he still has an arm left

i just wanted to say how annoyed i am with my local tv. three game series: jays vs red sox, and none of them have been aired. rogers ontario and mlb.tv only.

well, i have rogers cable. i live in ontario. but that channel is showing CHL (Canadian Hockey League) playoffs. fuck. i don't even know what hockey is anymore

so now, here i am...*watching* the game thru jays.com...interactively? it's soooooooo much fun to watch little red and blue dots move around my monitor.

i should have just gone to the game...why am i so dumb

go jays go!!!

end rant

Jays seem to have the Red Sox number this year

Posted by Dj Smitty20 on May-27-2005 02:57:

you're bitching about missing Jays games? haha...I'm a Yankees fan and, while i can catch maybe 30 of their games on TV, that's not nearly enough. I'm nearing the decision to pay 30 bucks a month for MLB Extra Innings...that way I can get every game every day for every team. Seems like a stupid way just to watch my favourite team, but that's the way our CRTC do it here in good ol' Canada.

Hehe, my fav team (Braves) has over several dozen games featured on TBS Superstation - the only reason I watch the channel and the reason how I got to be a Braves fan in '99. I never miss any games, and the only times I am forced to pass any is because of work schedule or urgent matters. I love TBS Baseball!!!!!

Too early to tell, they only played like 9 games so far I think, but yeah, Jays have the edge so far.

doesnt it have a lot to do with the yankees having their own network, YES or whatever its called. i had MLB Extra Innings a couple years ago and i remember a couple of their games werent offered.

Well I think Rogers (Canadian cable company which also owns the Blue Jays) has worked it out. A couple Yankee games might not be televised but I've looked at the schedule and the customer service rep said at least 150 games of every team (excluding the jays) will be shown. But when the Yanks play the Jays, it's available here on either TSN or Sportsnet, which is part of a regular cable package. Either way, it's a pretty good deal for an avid baseball fan. And I'm pretty sure the feeds are from the YES network.

Georgie would love, I'm sure, to get YES available in Canada and around the world, but we have stupid regulatory boards like the CRTC to control and protect against "threats to Canadian culture in tv and radio." It's very annoying sometimes.

ok .. now i am pondering here .. which current SS would you take right now ??

jeter, tejada, rollins, or itzuris (a-rod doesn't count, since he plays 3rd base now, and i added rollins and itzuris, because they are playing well in "fantasy baseball" ) .. hahahha ..

although jeter has the hardware (rings and trophies), tejada has not been blessed with a good lineup around him .. jeter has heart, and tejada has power .. i will take the power .. i will take tejada .. although jeter is a good SS, i love what tejada does for his team year after year .

fantasy wise, tejada

no questions asked

For Fantasy or for real life, it's easily Tejada. It's not even close.

I feel sorry for my brother-in-law, the Cubs fan. Mark Prior done for the year! That team is cursed because they can never get a break... oops I guess they can. They're done now in my opinion (not that they weren't already before). Even though Derrek Lee is a monster.

It sucks because I was seriously hoping to see Prior against the Yankees at the Stadium next month for interleague play.

Yankees have won 16/18 games. Feel the 200 million!

Hey hey ... you are too early to give it to the Yanks. They got HAMMERED by Red Sox 17-1 today. Baltimore still looks pretty good on top on AL East ...

Hey hey I didn't say anything about them winning any division, playoff series, championship. When did I give them anything?

I was just saying that the Yanks have turned it around. Last year they lost 22-2 to Cleveland and then won the next day. Last year the Red Sox lost 19-8 in game 3 and then won the next 4 games to take the series. One game doesn't mean anything. Trends do... but baseball is a season of peaks and valleys...

And I was being tongue in cheek about the 200 million...
