Hey, someone else from Wisconsin, cheers! I won't take your comments too personal.

quote:
I am ashamed to say I live in the same state as you. WI is a Hip-Hop and House dominated state when it comes to electronic music so if you're so set on bashing it, you might as well move. You know as well as i do that 99% of the 5.5 million people that live her have no idea what trance is let alone EDM so you're both unmatched here on TA and where ever you go.

It would be interesting to know where in WI you live, because I'm constantly inundated with putrid heavy metal, rock, hip-hop and country, NOT HOUSE. House can only be found in city clubs here, not in public listening (maybe there are one or two radiostations in MKE that play it).

quote:
I wont say you're wrong in saying that Hip-hop isnt EDM but i wont say you're right. it's all a matter of opinion and since the loops and riffs made for hip-hop are made electronically and its classified as a type of breakbeat, i consider it EDM. You can argue your point all you want but you arent going to change the opinions of the people here and since we clearly consider it a sub-genre of EDM, it is allowed to be discussed in the MD.

You all continue to say this is a trance board but if that doesnt matter. It may be called trance addict.com but a lot more that trance is discussed here. If you're so set on cleaning this place up into a trance only board, i can see a large portion of the members not even bothering to post simply because so many people listen to many other kidns of music. if we cant post about hip-hop because its a trance board, we might as well not post about breaks or techno or ambient or house.

Whatever... you've all made the fact that you dislike hip-hop perfectly clear so stop wasting your time trying to turn your opinions into fact because all of us here have our own opinions aswell. I agree with a slight dislike of hip-hop but this thread is about intelligent hip-hop. hip-hop with a meaning and a purpose, not the trash hip-pop you hear on mainstream radio. i dont find enjoyment listening to that because its all about the same 5 subject: cars, money, ice, bitches, drugs..

whatever, im getting ahead of myself. Hydarnes, fissipissi... stop wasting your time and stop wasting ours.

*sigh*

I really don't see why we must be on such hostile terms. I just enjoy hating rap, lol. Of cours everyone is entitled to their opionion, I would just prefer if they would stick to discussing styles of music that are more closely related to Trance than hip-hop and rap, which are highly DISPUTED forms of EDM.

Help you out how? I'm certainly not going to defend your stance.

So what don't you like about my stance?

Posted by UWM on Apr-13-2005 17:21:

That you vehemently hate hip-hop and will come in to this thread and denigrate the genre amongst an otherwise civil discussion.

the fact that it is biased and disrespectful.. we all have the right to like what we want to.

no where in the guidelines does it say we will only listen to trance or edm or etvr.

Posted by fissipissi on Apr-13-2005 17:59:

You're not a very popular member of this board, so your suggestions aren't going to go very far. Your comment about 'black music' isn't very tactful, either.

How does one differentiate between black music and white music? And how does one's color directly effect the music the individual(s) create(s)?

*Returns to listening to his green music*

Coming from a country with a sordid past regarding racism, I am very offended

Techno is black music, you wanker.

Hydarnes, how close must we get to trance to be able to talk about it here then? Hip-hop without vocals = breaks, and guess what, rap appears in other forms of EDM too. Are we not allowed to talk about those genres either then, because they contain a certain type of vocals?

Suddenly the term "nazi trance" makes a lot more sense.
