It's pretty special how in the last two years names like Dark by Design, Technikal, Nuw Idol are getting through to the hardtrancelisteners. At least untill around 2004 I didn't heared about last two (DbD, yes)....

Because, whatever you can say Germany has been the leading hardtrancecountry for SO long. And now hardtrance is dying a slow and painfull death there. The dj's go trance (Cosmic Gate) or hardstyle (Gary D., DJ Dean) or cheese (Ralph Fridge). Uberdruck left Tracid Traxxx for being to commercial. DuMonde is responsible for the composing some Jamster/Jamba ringtones and they are starting to experiment with house, Flutlicht already saw it coming and called it a day, Scot Project stated that hardtrance is a dying genre in Germany and you hear it everywhere, many hardtranceartists are losing their touch. From Derb is nothing left, everyone moans about DuMonde's shift in style (I like it....but I can imagine people miss the old sound) and many labels haven't got any quality releases in ages.

And with the lack of quality coming from Germany, it's amazing how many quality there is coming from the UK lately. Everything is Technikal and Dark by Design lately. Names who were around for a long time, always standing in the shadow of the almighty German producers, like P.H.A.T.T., JK Walker, Tommy Pulse, are stepping out.

The 'UK hardhouse' matured and the German hardtrance slowly fades.....

This is my longest post on TA ever.... I probably get flamed....

Hey nwopper, totally agree with you there. Think this is not just Germans' loosing out on quality hardtrance thou, but the whole continent except for the UK. Guys like Technikal and Dark by Design are hitting the headlines along with the old favorites of Phil Reynolds, Nick Sentience, Lee Haslam etc. Many are touring overseas, as the scene is alive and well out there. From Australia, New Zealand, Japan to South Africa there's still plenty of hardtrance punters out. It's sad to see the demise of labels and DJs thou, for example I haven't heard many tracks from my old favorites of SHOKK, Scot Project and Cosmic Gate, or anything decent from labels like Pulse and Overdose.

Perhaps in a few years you will start seeing hardtrance releases coming from this side of the world?

Finally, TA to me is more of a pure trance forum, if you like it hard you should check out the UK site of www.harderfaster.net
