he would still be an idiot if he would go...
anyway, i'm convinced bara wont let him go, they're rather low on decent strikers so they'll give him a raise or something

talk of throwing crespo in for part exchange aswell. not too bad an offer.

why would he be an idiot to go anyway? More money, at a equal if not better club?

yes, what an idiot indeed.

Its not just swapping clubs and getting more money...
Barcelona offers everything, first of all he can stay in Spain where he's used to living by now (admit it: Spain > UK).
There's one of the most charismatic and most appealing team in the world built around him (Barcelona > Chelsea).
Respect and fame to be grabbed in a magnificent club history

And then there's Chelsea... buying history

As for Crespo... dont want any Chelsea dudes coming to Bara
lets hope he can stay with Milan next year
see how smart his move was to go to chelsea...

there all your reasons, a footballer doesnt give a toss about any of them.

Respect? how would he get more respect at barca? Hes a footballer, he oculdnt give a toss about history. I am fairly sure he doesnt give a toss about how charismatic they are.

ALl a footballer worries aobut his money, and trophies. Barca arent a guranteed more trophies than chelsea in the next few years, its the other way around. If barca accept the offer hes gone.

Now personnally i dont think they will accept.

i think he DOES care
but you're right, why the fuck should they accept
its not like they're short on cash, if anything, they're short on strikers

haha, come on now dont kid yourself. VEry very very few players care about history.

i dunno, if i was them i would be mighty tempted! you could buy alot of quality players.

Barca are also getting rid of riquleme and saviola. Suprising, riquleme has done brilliant for villareal.

Posted by Goashem on May-31-2005 22:31:

yossi benayoun (racing santander) signed in newcastle, anyone knows anything about this?

It's not just history, it's all the things i stated before.
ah i wont bother trying to explain it anymore...

I also heard good things about Riquelme at Villareal, but havent been able to see him play this eason so cant really judge him.
Kinda of a surprise indeed...
And Saviola... what a shame ... I loved that dude at Bara

i have to side with the godfather on this one ... i think you are right when you state that cash and trophies are the most important thing to a footballer but face it everyone needs to have some sense of belonging somewhere ... at chelsea i dont think any one player besides maybe terry(since he came through the youth system) could command any respect from the fans because they know they can easily replace an underperformer with a better talent and a lot of players at the bridge will realize that over a course of time... its like scholes and giggs at OT barca and inter were highly interested in giggs and i beleive could even offer him more cash than we were since we have a policy on players over 30 but he just felt he belonged here which is why hes still with us... its just like us in real life man ... i wouldnt want to work some place which pays me more but doesnt make me feel im part of the culture

Well, Yossi said he dosen't want to talk about it but after Israel game agains Ireland.

Anyways, it's pretty much obvious he'll move to Newcastle.
Recing Sociedad want to buy 50% of his ticket, because Recing Santander want 3.5mill on Yossi.
Deprotivo are also in the chase, but a move to England will be best move for Yossi imo...

Ok. For all you chelski haters.

Let's not forget that Mourinho needs to buy a striker, maybe two because he only has 3 atm. (Forsell gone to everton, right? and Crespo not interested in coming back to Chelski)
If Kezman goes and looks like he'll be since he's been a bust, whoever comes to Chelski will get play time with a pretty good squad. That should definitely interest any striker who wants to play for a contender.

I thought Saviola is only a loan to Monaco? (And Monaco has luck with getting decent strikers on loan for some reason)

on loan indeed, but apparently bara wont take him back

saviola in the premiere league ? the kid would get injured after a few games , i don't see him perform there at all

christ, i would prefer lehman to him. Hes brutal.

Posted by Kytracid on Jun-03-2005 01:33:

Samuel E'too's a good striker, but he's a fucking mercenary. One minute he's spitting venom at Chelsea, the next he claims he doesn't hate JM or Chelsea. He said he's happy at Barca, but now wants even more money to score goals...what a fucking wank !

I'm so glad that Forlan ( A Manure reject ) scored more goals then him in La Liga...Said the wank, Etoo that he'd score more then Henry and win the golden boot - HA !

Still, have to give credit where it's due...he's a leathal finisher and with his pace he'd be great at almost any club. Having said that, I'm not sure there is much to choose from with Chelsea and Barca. They both have very strong squads, with Chelsea probably having the better defence. Still...I doubt he will leave Barca for anything less then a package deal with Aresnals Henry, and i somehow don't see that happening this summer.

i wouldnt trade eto'o for henry ... for one henry is 28 and eto'o i beleive is 23 ... second henry is a great striker no doubt but has failed to deliver in the big games for both club and country .. his goal scoring records for france , in europe and against the big clubs in england is nothing short of dismal ....

Kluivert from Newcastle to Valencia (free)

second Valencia's signing after Edu from Arsenal

Posted by Yohan on Jun-03-2005 21:39:

Edu is a good pick up, but not exceptional.

Kluivert is not going to solve Valencia's woes.
