Real men always pay for the entire bill, without complaint. It's our duty. You have to treat a woman like a princess.

You're a smart guy but this has to be your stupidest post ever.

Why don't "men" here live up to their responsibility?

Dude talk to me when you are 35 and divorced and left with virtually nothing because your gold digging wife left you for a richer guy...

id go further and say that rings are unecissary except for the actual wedding and even then they shouldnt have to cost 4 months salary.

I would agree with that as well.........good point

If you can "measure" your love to someone with a material possession - I personally don't want that kind of love - it is highly over-rated.

want to get married? LOL

Posted by ShadoWolf on May-17-2005 04:19:

Dunno

Why is money even an issue here? If you care about the girl, you should pay for the date, without complaining.

I guess chilvilry really is dead...

Posted by Jayx1 on May-17-2005 04:20:

no..just that alot of guys arent suckers.

What about the girl caring for you? Do you seriously have such little respect for yourself?

Being married for quite a while, the pedestal does lower to more like a soapbox. We split the basic living expenses, but any "extra" money either of us make, we get to use for ourselves. This model has seemed to work for years.

You would buy the husband's ring?! Where were you 10 years ago?! LOL

or a watch. its becomming quite popular that if the guy asks, the girl will later buy him a nice piece of jewellry equal to that of the ring. see times are a-changing

That sounds nice. Not necessary, but totally appreciated and fair considering the damage dropped on a ring! Id really luv a solid quality watch.

Id be happier with using the money for both on something more lasting like a special vacation or a college fund for any possible future kids

By the time our kids hit college, it'll cost more than what I paid for my first house....30 year college payments

Vacation

New driveway?

Replacement windows...

if the women is going to bear your children, don't you think she deserves special treatment? she should be pampered, IMO

men and women are inherently different, so you can't expect everything in the relationship to be the same, like paying for dates

pregnancy isnt a disease you know....

And she will get just as much out of having kids as a man would...

Along the lines of your thinking i will respond with "if shes lucky enough to be chosen to have my kids shouldnt i be respected?"

Of course i dont actually think that way but im trying to put it in a way you might understand.

There is something VERY weird that happens to women after they have children....I will elaborate if anyone wishes.
