Ignorent kid: That shit is whack, its all (attempts to make melody of Sandstorm)
Me: So listening to rap makes you cool?
Ignorent kid: No its just it sounds good and talk about shit I can relate to unlike techno
Me: Ok how can you relate when you are NOT shooting up people, selling drugs or getting hoes to suck your dick? Oh and by the way, with out techno none of your music would be around.
Ignorent kid: ...... SHUT UP YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT.

I like trance, perhaps not to the same extent that I liked it when I got into it, which is the trance that honestly, I rather listen to.. but I do still enjoy it. Ive just come to apprecciate other forms of EDM, but to hate on trance I find it just a trend, stupid one I might add.
my friends
what do you listen to?
house music
like disco shit?
no
ok well fuck it we are putting on country.
damn rednecks
For me trance is a big Love and hate thing.
I think trance can be the cheesiest thing and other time be the most beautiful music.
The thing that i find totally weird in trance is the fact that a DJ can play a song that i totally like and then follow with a cheesy ass tune.
i got a question for u guys !
Gabriel and Dresden... Trance or not ?

yeah they're considered trance, at least for me and a few others in the forums.
OMG, its really tough to be a Trance DJ in San Antonio lately.
I feel like I'm in Purgatory because the underground laughs at Trance and tell me I'm better suited for a club, but the club scene looks at me as some kind of raver freak and wants me to play Rap. I find myself not spinning around others as much now just because I'm tired of hearing the jokes while I'm playing.
You find people here and there that are really supportive and wish you well, but the vast majority of peeps here will tell you to your face you're doing well, then turn around and make fun of you in front of everyone. You can tell when some people respect what you do but are giving you a hard time, and you can tell when some people are just being hateful.
I've gone so far as to almost start spinning Techno just so I could not have to deal with it, but I've just started distancing myself from those people because I love what I love so much and its part of who I am.
The funnniest part is when I meet new people and they start telling me how much they hate Trance only to put their foot in their mouth when I play. I usually hear "I still hate Trance, but I love YOUR Trance".
Fuckheads.
That's why you move to Toronto and help boost the scene.

here the clubs most amiable for trance will be doing house as well but it should be a lot better by now; we just need a trance artist to step in and not be a sheep artist for a change. I think the raves here are equally as friendly although I can't vouch for that completely as I've not been to a rave here. Nonetheless from the sounds of it you'd be more warmly accepted and appreciated unlike the retards in your area.
Hmmmm plane tickets in November are $350 round trip from SA...
Wonder if anyone would book my Mexican ass.
What I hate most is when people say "techno is too artificial" or "not real music" or something. Then they go play whatever contemporary pop bullshit of the week artist is big these days (I thought hard but really couldn't come up with any examples) that is filled with synths, basslines, effects. Hell even the singer's voice is modified digitally. Damned hypocrites.
I have heard from friends of mine how terrible they thought trance was.
Recently Oakenfold, Sheram, and Hernan came to town for a show. I saw everyone of them there, (given there was hardcore djs there, but when the big names were at the main stage so were they) For me, listening to most of hardcore or even.......uuuugghh happy hardcore is horrible. So I guess I do have some empathy for thier critisism.
But I guess all in all I listen to music in general because of the way it makes me feel, so I guess I could really give a shit what other people say.

It's also crazy how many people associate trance with techno. This gets to me since trance is not techno. Plus they tell me it's not dance-able? Well, I'll give'em that one since I haven't seen a proper way to dance to trance music other than the jumping and bopping of the head. |

most of my friends are into heavy metal so i dont really get much conversation out of them when it comes to trance
hahah heavy metal, punk, rap, or if im lucky at the most ill get a mainstream listener who listens to that mainstream house stuff ie Rogue Traders - VooDoo Child (i think it is)
Yeah you gotta love the hypocrits who say trance is soo artificial compared to the stuff they listen to. Have you actually heard some of their "real" artists sing at concerts and stuff? They sound like a total piece of $hit because they don't have the recording studio mixer/audio processor machines beautifying their horrid voices. And they have the nerve to call trance artificial. it is artificial in the sense that there aren't usually a core sounding of "real" instruments but then again their music is no better at all. *especially* rap. You call that singing? I call it guys being gruff instead of trying to actually make use of their vocal chords properly because they're too lazy AND untalented to do otherwise. "yo yo yo angst is my fuel for my cheesy lyrics; record studio music 4 life I can't sing for shit!" (this of course isn't completely true but sadly that's all one will tend to hear anywhere).
Trance is real in the sense that it's its own genre, expressing emotion and whatnot in its own way like all other genres of music. there's nothing artificial about that. While trance artists may not heavily rely on vocals in their music, it's still as real and authentic as the next genre that does use it. Why? because trance music does all the expression without the need for words. It's expression is mainly through the music and not always on vocals.
Here in New Jersey, the only people that listen to trance are guido's and gotti's. With their guinea T's, and spiked hair... God I hate them. So whenever I am blasting trance in my car, everyone thinks I am a guido.

In a small town like the one that I live in people always think that they're listening to stuff that's "In". It seems to be very important for them to show what they're listening to. I have only noticed that a few people knows who for an example Ferry Corsten is..This place sucks indeed, Surely.
LOL @ Guidos
FYI, Guido-types down here in SA are referred to as "Julios" because of their Latino origin.
BWAHAHAHAHAHA
