whats the dealio?

I dunno but I still find it hard to believe that NFL Commish Paul Tagliabue averaged more rebounds a game at Georgetown then Patrick Ewing and Dikembe Mutombo

How about Hotlanta desperately needing a PG and drafting Marvin Williams instead. DOH!

Paul is awesome! He's like a Jason Kidd, great all-around game.

who never saw this coming ?

jalen rose traded to the knicks for antonio davis for a second stint for him.

we all knew toronto wanted to ship jalen rose out of there, but we never knew when. i think the knicks got a deal by giving up just davis and a first round pick for rose. toronto once again with bad management received nothing for their star player. they could have at least tried to get crawford or marbury, who are both disgruntled with the status of the team right now , especially with crawford coming off the bench. crawford definately wants to start, and he could have gotten that opportunity at toronto with mike james.

i don't know. i hear the Knicks have to pay a lot of money for Rose because his contract has a lot of carry over attached to it. Isiah Thomas does not seem to know what he's doing when it comes to player contracts, especially after finally losing Allan Houston gave him some space.

I could be wrong though so don't take this as fact, I've been out of the loop in the NBA for a while.

I can't believe Wally got traded! And wtf happened to the South East division since last year??

and while i'm at it how is Cleveland sucking w/ Ilk and LJ?! and in the EAST?! i don't know jack about bball anymore

Isn't it the Knicks getting cash from the Raptors?

The Knicks have been downright painful for their fans (myself included) to watch, so it seems like a bit of a desperation move to do something, in the hope of stopping the downward slide and making things better. Heck, it seems that things couldn't get any worse than the way they were at the time of the trade.
I heard that Davis was good for the Raptors because of his expiring contract, which I guess would make some cap room afterwards.

TORONTO -- The Toronto Raptors finally traded Jalen Rose on Friday, sending him to the New York Knicks for forward Antonio Davis.

The Knicks also received a first-round draft pick and an undisclosed amount of cash from the Raptors in a deal involving dismal teams who played each other Friday night in Toronto.

Posted by Spartan on Feb-06-2006 05:04:

hmm interesting, I wonder how much they got b/c I know that Jalen Rose's contract is messy and expensive, and that the Knicks will be the only ones paying for it.

What are they doing getting Rose, they need a freaking big man not a veteran at the end of his career. Its not like they're making a push for the postseason.

Also quick question. Will the Kings make the playoffs this year??

Whatcha all think?

I say yes, I don't think NO can keep winning like this.

They need lots of things.
I think they were hoping Eddy Curry would be that "big man". He's young, so maybe he still could be.

Forget about making a push for the postseason. After losing 11 out of the last 12, the Knicks are desperate for wins, period.

this saddens me. . he would be the perfect fit for the team, because he would obviously be the leader of the crew . looks like he doesn't want to be kobe's teammate. .

and although there are many mav haters here, i like dallas's success right now, because of their coach avery johnson. i think this guy is a smart guy and knows his basketball knowledge to the nth degree . the only reason why he has success with dallas, compared with don nelson is because of one reason. defense. case closed.

the day don nelson learns defense is the day when i poop out a pair of twins out of my butt.

Posted by Kapedano on Feb-12-2006 22:49:

no doubt about that, mavs are good because of defence. but im going to qoute charles barkley and say "mavs are only built for the regular season"
