Because white people who are the dominant race, naturally listen to superior music. Just kidding, ignorance is funny, hate over skin color is too funny because it's stupid.
Well, trance is dominated by white people because it's mostly big in a white people area, like Europe.

I remember Dj Spiel threatened to hack this site once when I suspended him. That was funny.

many rap and hip-hop producers probably don't want to be associated techno, trance, or house either.

Yes, it is true..
And no most of them didn't as it was originally stereotyped "gay" music.

As I black individual myself ive actually found that white people are more critical on the fact that I listen to Trance or EDM in general. The majority of the white people I have encountered after telling them I listen to EDM say shit like "OMFG, you are the whitest black kid ever!" or "Why don't you listen to rap". God each time I hear that I fucking want to smash their face in with a fucking anvil. All the black people that know I listen to EDM, only asked once and never again questioned why I don't listen to rap or hiphop, and didn't have any effect on our relationship at all.
Ive been listening to EDM for the past 5 years, and have dealt with preaty much all the type of shit you can think of when it comes between what others percieve I listen to and what I actually do listen to.Its just because people in general become so attuned to the way certain racial groups are and act, that when encountered with a situation like this can't handle it properly. Its kind of like white people wearing "black cloths" and dressing like a thug or gangster. To me its annoying as hell when people try to tell other people what is acceptable to wear based upon their race. Thats just insane IMO. However, I think most of what is occuring happenes primarily in the US because of teenagers and young adults in general are being brainwashed by the media, though ive never been overseas anywhere so I could be wrong. Though as someone stated earlier, it isn't nearly as evident when looking at older adults.
Overall listening to EDM just makes me feel more unique and different and more pround to be black than anything else.
Most people in the US, however, see being different or unique as a bad thing as most people here try to blend in with the crowd so they can feel wanted. This is why i'll probably be living in another country sooner or later.

no but seriously, ive only met/seen a handful of blacks who like edm...i don't know why...maybe it's just a cultural thing since edm started over in europe and europe is white??? it's like why do latinos like salsa music? derr...
there's always exceptions though.

wat so we're just wired differently? THat's an important part of evolution isn't it? musical tastes. Because we all know we evolved plenty since man first appreciated music.
and ur actually PROUD to raise this as an issue? Y do u even consider it an issue?
next post:
blacks are more related to their ape ancestors than us whites. their brains haven't evolved much from then, whereas ours has.
^
nvm.... u probably wouldn't know what i'm talking about.

^i hope u do ur research on that one... probably europe is the best bet, but i wouldn't really know.
the cultures really different from American ones, are usually collectivist, which means that they are also the same (need other ppls approval), but in a different way.

Being collectivist in some cultures doesn't necesarrily mean having a lack of individuality. People in the US just go about it differently...

well you seem to be the expert on our culture and media impacts and all that. so share how this only happens in america? since that's what you're implying. And, think whatever you feel like. Most blacks do not listen to EDM not matter how many of your friends do.

u right. they respect individuality in different areas.
well, u just gotta be aware that it's difficult to be seen as part of "the group" in collectivist cultures

I never said it only happens in the US, but just stating that the way Americans go about individualism is more harmful than helpful to society. From my experiences, most Americans don't know how to respect individualism, but pretend they to do. And I know most blacks don't listen to EDM. In fact, im the only black person I know that listens to EDM.
Maybe some of you should try living the knowledge that your the only person of your race that you know who listens to a certain type of music... its quite exhilerating actually and can put some things into perspective...
Posted by Allied Nations on Nov-26-2005 07:29:
Wow... I thought us EDM people were open to all races sexes etc etc...
We have quite a few biggots on out board.
I hope you all rot in hell!
