OK, one last time:
Got into the KH at around 12:30. Immedietly run into lotsa TA's- guys whata a great presence, awsome to see everyone, you guys make these kinda events soo much more fun and special for me- Thank you!!! I will not mention any names cuz there were simply too many of us there but I just wanted to say that seeing that many friendly familiar faces, getting hugz from everyone and just beeing around you guys makes my nights so very awsome- LUV U ALL!!! THANK YOU!!!
Didn't see much of Porter.
Junkie XL: saw the very first part of his set, was pretty good, the guy is a great preformer, too bad I didnt stay longer, wondered off to guv at 1:30- should of stayed in KH till 2.
SECOND SUN: 10/10 WOW- I totally didn't expect that, it was awsome, loved the music, the live vocals, great energy, pure pleasure! Will definetely like to see them again soon- great performance! I soo very enjoyed it!
PICOTTO: 1/10- it was soo very bad, slow, very little energy, boring, totally killed my groove. It was my first and last time seeing him.
And WTF was that with his runing 45 mins late over his time slot, seriously that really annoyed me, I was soo pumped for B&J and having to suffer through Mouro for that long- it was just wrong, lack of respect for the DJs and for US, the crowd.
BLAK & JONES: 8/10 ( -1 for beeing late, they could of been more pushy) but like always MINT SET, awsome energy, great melodic and uplifting tunes- much needed after Picotto.
PERFECT SILENCE just killed me!!! these guys never dissapoint!
Its always a pleasure to watch them. At this time they are one of my favs! But due to the late time and lenghty boring delay I just couldnt get back into my groove and dance it up properly, I tried hard but it just wasn't happenig.
So in need to keeping myslef entartained I came up with what seemed a briliant idea at the time, and clibed the fance on the right side behind the curtains- dont know how, but i did it and got my ass right behind the DJs for few close up pics- I was very respectfu and did not disturbe them- I keept my distance- so I guess it was ok, right? After getting my pics and a quick smile from both of my fav DJs I left home happy at 7.

Zewad, a total pleasure to meet you and MellyMel...I was hoping I'd see MellyMel hopping around with a bit more energy but it's true that most of the music in KH was quite soft but when her future husband (Piet Blank ) came on, it was like a switch was turned on!!! Don't worry, DA, pictures were taken! ![]() |
SECOND SUN SECOND SUN SECOND SUN SECOND SUN SECOND SUN SECOND SUN SECOND SUN SECOND SUN SECOND SUN
I had a great time, but have to agree I ended up just standing around for most of Mauro's set...boo.
Biggest pet peeve...people are walking past, so you move to let them through and no, they don't go through...they just stay there taking up your dancing room...MOVE PEOPLE!!!

Nada love that pic of you!!!!! dance it up girl!
Sydney Blu was good in London from 12:30-2am. Then she had to hurry off to Toronto for a 4am-ish start at The Gallery. Glad to hear she made it OK. I know she was worried about the snow.
Good to have a night at Phoenix in London with good tunes without all the sketchhead's who normally come out, since they were at US9.
i had a sick night met a bunch of great TA's. Second sun was awesome, Mark oliver delivered some sick tracks as always, Armin's shivers and love theme dusk were killers but at that point i went over to see Blank and Jones in kool house. I dont think there was one track that didnt own lol. Oh and does anyone know it any sets were recorded? id love the blank and jones set or at least the track list cause it was insane. IM also trying to find out one of the trqakcs they played so if anyone can help go look in the identify tracks section i made a post.
good calm clear clean night at phoenix indeed (minus that angry guy!!)
ohhhh i love sydney blu...she was banging out the sick beats last night. loved it.

whats the second sun tracklist!?!
We made it back to Detroit safe and sound - phew! Far better than the white knuckle express it took to get us to Toronto last night.
We got to the Guv right around 10pm as they were opening and the moment they opened up the Kool Haus, I scurried in. Porter just laid it out - no hesitation, no wanting to go smoothly - just banged some wicked fuckin' tracks. I couldn't stop the dancing and just went with it. I had never seen Porter before and I am definitely a fan.
Then Junkie XL.....damn. That is by far one of the most fun sets I have heard. I danced during its entire duration - the last three tracks he mixed in together - Fischerspooner, "Red Pill, Blue Pill", and the Beastie Boy's Fight For Your Right....damn!!!!! Wish I had kept the video camera running during it's entirety. And he was just getting into it - jumping on the decks, pumping his fists in the air - very good.
Mauro came on and it was banging. But it got a little too repititive for me so I wandered into the Gallery to catch more Porter. He was ripping it up hard in there - facker! We realized it was getting time for Blank & Jones and went back to the Kool Haus. B&J were great - everyone got a 2nd, 3rd, or 10th wind I think when they started spinning. Great way to end the night.
This is one of the best events I've been to at the Guv complex - Sasha/Lawler and Halloween 2005 being the other two great ones. My legs are sore, my ass is done, and I am very glad we made it up this weekend.
For videos, I have the following: Steve Porter: "Funkytown", Junkie XL: "OPening Track", "Misc Track", Coldplay "Talk", Fischerspooner "Emerge", "Red Pill, Blue Pill", Above & Beyond: Kosheen "Catch". Find me on MSN if you want any of them - A&B, Talk, and Funkytown turned out the best.
Thank you to the TOTAs once more for an awesome dancing adventure in Canada. My two friends, Scott & Leanne, had a blast on their second outing to Toronto.
Pictures to come soon as I can upload them.
Kris
whats ur msn, i want coldplay "talk"
Blank & Jones tore the f'n roof off. I loved their entire set.
Porter opened like a man with a mission, getting the crowd all wild.
Junkie just dropped bomb after bomb, then eventually letting Mauro screw up the vibe, almost making me fall asleep on the couch, spilling my water onto some couple.
So thank god B&J came and saved that night.
.....simply awesome!
P.S. someone's got to get that set to me
