tossers!
i didnt think it would be possible to fuck up an order on a set of needles..................
but thats right you guessed it! HTFR the ****s managed it!
i ordered a set of Shure carts, everything looked fine, nice box boths carts and styli there, so i set about mounting my new shiny carts only to discover the idiots sent me only 1 set of mounting screws instead of 2!
well this is the very last time i shop there as these idiots are nothing but incompetant, and should not be allowed to have a website never mind a web store!
DO NOT SHOP AT HTFR!
Hey guys.
I just read through the whole thread, and I think this is great that we all watch out for each other.
I've been a photographer for years, and there are similar mail order camera shops that pull the same shit. Like you will order a certain camera with a certain lens, and they will send you the right camera with a cheapo lens. Sometimes you will get lucky, but for the most part they are scammers. If most of the people have bad experiences with a store, then I think it's safe to say that you shouldn't even look at their webpage lest you be tempted to order something! Maybe like that guy said you can go in person to the store and check it out...
I'll only order from places that people have recomended here. Gemm.com is a great search engine, but you can tell some of those stores are scammers as well. They will sell a rare vinyl for like 8 bux, when it's worth $30-40.
Peace,
Dave

I've used HTFR once back at the end of February. The reason being that they had a certain DMC vinyl and a one sided Steel Fish Qattara vinyl in stock that I was really after. So while I was there, I also ordered another 4 which I was interested in. I must say I had absolutely no problem, although the price for the Qattara vinyl was a little steep. All of them arrived in perfect condition very quickly.
Although maybe I'm just lucky. I guess it's probably because I'm into older stuff that there's less demand for (I'm a big 90's Trance/Progressive/Epic House fan) and so generally there will be less trouble with them so they aren't likely to make a bootleg copy of something they don't think will sell. So from my personal experience, if you're into older stuff that isn't too sought after among most people and HTFR have it, then go ahead with it. Although nobody has to listen to me.
I recently had a problem with www.humpty.de. I placed an order with them over a month ago. I was charged on my credi card but I never received my records. I tried emailing several times to 2 different email addresses with no response. I then stated my problem on the message board only find that message was deleted a day later and no response back. After doing this several times of posting and getting deleted, I got an email response saying that I wasn't charged for my order when in fact I was. I wrote back but no response as usaul. Now the site has been down for about a week. Anyone else ever order from them or had a problem like this?
I recently bought records from:
Juno.co.uk on June 11th
imorecords.com on 14th (shipped on 16th)
htrax.co.uk on 14th (shipped on 16th also)
i think they are all UK based stores and
imo records just came in in perfect condition
it was the fastest shipping for international order.
just wanted to tell you guys this.
also, another shipments came in the next day
Let me tell you a little story about the ******s at HTFR:
A while ago on the Judge Jules board, people were getting similarly pissed off at HTFR and decided to test them. So, one guy picked his username as a fake artist name, and created a fake song title.
He called up HTFR, and asked if they had any in stock, their reply wnt something along the lines of,
"We did do mate, but we've just sold the last of 'em, we should get more later on"
So other people called up, asking about the Paul Van Dyk remix of the same song, and the Da Hool remix, and the godknows what else remix.
To sum up, they really are rip-off merchants. I've never bought from them and I never will.

just wanted to say something about juno. placed an order about 3 days ago, got records today (and im in new zealand) brilliant. well packaged and presented. not to mention bloody cheap prices too!
big thumbs up for juno
Dot Vinyl !! BEWARE !!
I purchased Solarstone & Scott Bond - 3rd Earth on the 30th april. They took the £10 something off my card.
Waited 1 week with no record so e-mailed them. No response.
Waited 2 weeks still no record so e-mailed them AGAIN. No response.
Phoned them. No response
Kept phoning them and e-mailin them until early June over 1 MONTH since my order with them, and still NO RESONSE.
I was raging at this stage so decided to write them a letter demanding my record or refund. NO RESPONSE!
More telephone calls... NO RESPONSE !
So its now nearly 3 months and still no vinyl from Dot Vinyl. I would stay WELL CLEAR of these scammers!

Originally posted by Wizbit Just to add to this, I ordered seven records (Which included 3rd Earth!) from DotVinyl at the beginning of June and have not heard anything from them since. They took the money (>£60) from my card the day after the order. I've phoned them every day for the past 5 weeks and e-mailed them a few times. Still no response at all! Wakners! ![]() |
just had to say a good experience from HTFR...ordered a tune from them, came in a few days perfectly - no problems.
Dot vinyl have been a bit slow recently- they have been shifting their whole stock and ordering system to their new store in the uk- i have used them before with no problems, but during this transition, they have been noticeably slower. Should be back to normal soon.
As for htfr, i just drive up there and make sure i can see the records before i buy them- only 40 mins drive for me so not too bad. Heard some dodgy thing about them, but in contrast, also heard some great things about them too.
Has anybody ever ordered anything from Yoshitoshi. I ordered two records from them, and I still haven't recieved them after a month. Anybody have any experiences with them?????
just wanted to give a quick thumbs up to the guys at planetx... it just sux that they have a wierd system...the three colors that they use to code their stock are green, blue and black. if all the records you want are black, then you should try to find at another store, cuz black means that it is out of stock/out of print. if the records you want are blue, you have a decent chance of getting them. i've ordered several of their records coded BLUE and recieved them along with their regular stock. the records that are in green are the ones that they currently have in stock. they have an easy to use system, and shipping within the states is fairly cheap. last time i ordered from them, it was $100 worth of records (12 records) and the shipping was about 18 bucks, and that was 3 day air...just sux that it was over the weekend and the records didn't arrive till wednesday morning (ordered them on a friday evening). i've had only one problem with them, one of the records i ordered from them (andora - follow me (mat silver vs. tony burt remix) was a little scratchy, not because it was a duplicate, but maybe got warped during shipping.
also wanted to give a thumbs up to dancerecords.com.
another thumbs up for replayrecords.com. have found some very very good stuff with them. (ex. tin tin out - trance with me (dumonde mix), katana - silence (antic remix), and members of mayday - 10 in 01 (pvd mixes)).
and what one of the other guys said, about finding a local record store... it's a very very good idea... There's a place about 30 mins from my house called DJ CULTURE. They have a site online too, but they don't sell stuff online. They've ordered me quite a few tracks that i haven't been able to find anywhere else (i.e. three drives - greece 2000, the york mix, the saccoman mix). just thought i'd let everyone know
take care, peace

i have been trying to call them for almost 2 weeks, they never pick up, i sent bunch of e-mails, no reply and now those e-mail gets send back to me. i tried to fax them, it failed ( maybe they changed #).i'm not gonna bother writing letter to them, they won't write back if they don't reply by e-mail.
it is impossible to get contact with them.
they might be good, but if you have problem, you basicly cannot do anything about it.

hi everyone, i just thought i would add my piece to the htfr bashing buy adding a few bad experiences i had with them, firstly the service is rubbish, a shop with more employees than customers all with about as much knowledge as my ass, all the records are over priced, they charge £6 or even £8 for a general release, which would be 3.99 everywhere else (hmv), shocking! I bought a mixer from them, they said it was good for scratcking (sharp cross fade curve) but it wasn't , so i took it back asking for a refund, but did i get it, hell no, they said they dont give refunds, the bastards!
Anyway, since then i wouldnt buy a thing from them, instead, places like chemical records, juno.co.uk, massive records, and if your in birmingham, three shades records is fantastic.
peace out. simon
