I'm kinda hoping they lose so they come back to raleigh, fucking everyone is wearing hurricase stuff today. One sided matches are not fun to watch, we need some more suspense I think, although I am really glad the hurricanes are doing so well.

Oilers off to a quick start on home ice in Game 3
they finish with a 2-1 win
making the series 2-1

Never underestimate the Edmontonians.

Game 4, Ill be watchin.

Nerve-wracking game. Edmonton dominated the run of play, just like they have in the other games (when they weren't in the penalty box). Carolina just found out how hard it was to beat the Oilers without a ton of lucky bounces. Note that Carolina's goal did come as a result of a lucky bounce - off of Jason Smith's chest, right back to Brind'Amour. Ah well, that's hockey.... Hell, I still don't know what happened on Smyth's goal, but I'll take it.

Once again, Edmonton deserved to win this one because they controlled the game. Their defensive zone coverage was almost flawless and Jussi was solid (great save on Williams early on) and he played the puck well and with confidence.

What I'm taking from this game: Edmonton showed that they can win without Roloson. Edmonton also showed for the 2nd time in 3 games that they can out-play Carolina. The one major concern for me is Cam friggin Ward. Edmonton needs to be able to solve him for more than 2 goals if they're going to pull this off... Monday night will tell the tale. Either way, WE HAVE A SERIES!!!

Posted by stren on Jun-11-2006 13:06:

yeah that smyth's goal wasn't clear ( he wasn't the one shootin, so i guess it must've bounced off him) but still it didn't look like he was interfering with the goalie, so i'll take it too.

go oilers go!

Posted by all-nite-freak on Jun-11-2006 19:14:

Its a series again

Posted by partyhopper on Jun-13-2006 03:17:

Another low-scoring 2-1 game, this time going to the Canes
Now the Canes have a chance to win the Cup at home

Posted by partyhopper on Jun-15-2006 03:09:

shorthanded OT goal keeps the Oilers alive
sends the series back to Edmonton
the Stanley Cup will be making at least 2 cross country trips

Posted by stren on Jun-15-2006 11:26:

much improvement in special teams for edmonton

go oilers go!

Pisani = Mr. Clutch

Such a huge win. If they can just force game 7. Carolina hasn't lost back to back games in these playoffs since games 1 and 2 against Montreal, but they've never been in this situation before. Weight won't be playing, which certainly helps Edmonton. He's probably the most important part of Carolina's power play after Staal and maybe Brind'Amour.

If Jussi continues to shine and the Oilers keep hitting, they have a decent chance of pulling this off. How awesome would that be!

GO OILERSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

Posted by partyhopper on Jun-18-2006 03:24:

4-0 win for Oilers in Game 6 makes it come down to a single Game 7 for all the marbles
Seems like quite a fitting way to end a very good (at least to me) playoffs

Posted by Dj Smitty20 on Jun-18-2006 04:54:

with the World Cup on, baseball in full swing, NBA playoffs, it seems like nobody is watching the NHL Final. Even my interest has tapered off because it is simply too late for hockey to still be going. But I'll definitely watch Game 7 now. I like many wrote the Oilers off after Game 4. BUt they could easily take the Cup now.

Posted by stren on Jun-18-2006 09:33:

hey ! i'm watching it. Couldn't watch the whole season, so now i can't miss a game. Go oilers go, you're on a roll

Posted by Eddie N MIAMI on Jun-18-2006 12:23:

ive watched bit and pieces of almost all the games, very suprised its going to game 7,will def. watch.

Posted by Thierry on Jun-18-2006 16:51:

It is wikkid to see so many non-Canadians interested in the playoffs, even if it is for game 7. THE CUP IS COMING HOME MONDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by zarathustra on Jun-18-2006 20:11:

Huge win. The Canes got smoked last night. I was surprised to see Cole playing. Probably not the smartest decision on his part, but I can understand that it's been killing him not being able to be a part of his team's cup run.

I can really see the Oilers pulling this one off. The way they've been playing lately, they're going to be tough to beat. Anything can happen though, I can't wait to watch this one.

game 7 ! tonight ! yeah baby !

Posted by partyhopper on Jun-20-2006 02:44:

surely an exciting 3rd period

no matter what happens, Markkanen did an amazing job filling in for Roloson

Posted by partyhopper on Jun-20-2006 02:57:

Hurricanes win Game 7, 3-1
Congrats to the Canes for winning the Stanley Cup!

Props to the Oilers for an incredible run

Posted by Dj Smitty20 on Jun-20-2006 02:59:

yeah well....I'm sorry, but I can't get excited over fucking CAROLINA winning the Stanley Cup. So when Recchi, Brindamour, Wesley and Doug Weight all retire and they start to suck, let's see how full the building is. But this Cup at least saved Carolina from moving to Winnipeg or Las Vegas for the next half decade.

The Curse of the 1993 Montreal Canadiens lives on I guess.
