50 cent makes an album, he releases a few singles to promote the album, album is released, he releases a few more singles, normal, yeah?

What I mean is that albums like this don't feel like albums to me at all, but just samplers. Every single track there is sliced and cut up to be less than half of the length of the way it should be and the whole album is crammed full of tunes. The only way to get full length versions of these tracks is to buy them all twice (or 3-4 times depending on all the mixes).

I mean look at Right Of Way - the last tunes were released from it in full just a couple of months before LEF came out. It's ridiculous and shows the artist/label doesn't really care about the actual album as long as they can make the maximum amount of profit. Can't really blame them since it's what they're supposed to do but I sure as hell am not going to spend my money on this either.

Well it's an album for listening to at home, so there's no need for obligatory 'mix friendly' intros and outros. 5-6 mins seems fair enough to me, there are some shorter tracks but justifably so. At the same time some of the tracks could have been longer, given the # of tracks on the CD, its the only way to do it.

You're not very well informed... the rights for the 'Right Of Way' album belong to Purple Eye / Tsunami. Ferry is not making any new tracks for Tsunami for already a few months now, since he has his own label Flashover Recordings. Purple Eye / Tsunami is still releasing "old" Ferry Corsten / System F tracks, while the new ones see a release on Flashover Recordings. For more info just read the whole Ferry Corsten interview which was posted recently at Trance.nu:

I know that very well and I don't really understand what that has to do with my post. I don't believe I said anything about who owns the rights to what.

Oh sorry, my bad (a bit), but you wrote:

Don't you can't blame the artist for that, that was what I was trying to say.

Love:

Beautiful
Possession
Forever
I Love You
Galaxia
Cubicated

its a very diverse album.

Sure theres some fluffy filler material, but theres nothing a solid flashover remix won't fix up nicely

I've finally heard this album. First off I saw Ferry a couple of weeks ago and I heard a lot of these tunes, but didn'thave any idea that they were from the L.E.F. album. instantly after hearing it I was having flashbacks of that night.

8/10

I can't compare it to Right Of Way since the style is different. I luv how he has the electro style basslines and kicks with uplifing style melodies.

The tracks thats stand out for me are:

Beautiful - has to be the sickest tune on the album
I Love You - reminds me of what a flashover mix of a Gouryella tune would sound like
Possession

"Beautifull" and "galaxia"(isn't that verryyy old?) are sweet mwlodic trance tunes, although, the whole album is way too mainstream and i thing it is done for financial reasons...(throw a bunch of tunes of classic ferry trance, a bit of (pseudo-)electro which is "trendy", a bit of hip-hop some more poppy moments and you have an album for "every taste"...nahhh....)

From the reviews in this thread, I think I'll just hold out for the 12" of Cubikated.

Too many people on this board have their nose up their ass, and refuse to accept anything's that's new. I've been into trance since about '95, and sure I like the older sound more, but my whole take on this is artists will change their sound, so we should change our tastes as listeners. Anyway L.E.F. is nowhere as bad as a lot of people say it is, sure it's not a 10/10 album, but it's definitely not lower than 6.

I'd be pretty pissed about a 6. 6 isn't worth buying.

Has anyone heard Daylight? I'm umm-ing and ahh-ing between the Daylight version and the Prisonbreak version.

If I decide to get it at all.

Yeah after I posted the message I realized that 6 was too low. It's about 8.5 for me, but I just got it yesterday and it's growing very quickly on me, so it might go up to 9 by the end of the night.

Hmm well unlike all the nostalgic folks I like when artists change or evolve their sound. I happen to like Ferry's electro sound. The videogameesque bleeps and bloops are his sound and I dig it. What I don't dig is how that element seems to be missing here on L.E.F. I like the track L.E.F. and feel that it has the same whacky feeling as a lot of the tracks from Right Of Way did. Perhaps I just like RoW too much. I wish Ferry would give us more electro and stop worrying about the critics. L.E.F. is a crazy sounding track but this is not a crazy sounding album IMO. 6.5/10 for me.

allofmp3 dot com

I bought the whole CD for less than $4 in 320kbps quality. That's the cheapest and most flexible place to buy mp3s from.

Yeah, and guess how much from that money goes to the artist?

$0.
