The best part of the night was right at 4 or so when EVERYBODY was trying to get upstairs from the main room to go to the Skybar for Lawler.
Lisa and I are pushing through the crowd, trying to get to the stairs, and some guy jumps in between us. I'm trying to get around, and some girl grabs me and says "oh don't you even fucking try it, buddy" to which I replied "I'm just trying to get up here with my girlfriend." Lisa turns around and confirms it, and the girl apologizes and lets me through.
A minute later, I decide to tell Lisa exactly what happened, and I wasn't paying attention to whom I was talking to. I put my hand on what I thought was her shoulder but turned out to be a short Asian dude, whom when I turned to look at after I finished telling my story looked exactly like this:

Lisa laughed at me as she watched the whole thing. Thank fuck the dude was cool about it, he laughed as well.
Goddamn.

Lawler is the reason I got into house music in the first place and Saturday was nothing different for me.
I love his sound!
The mainroom as it seems happens everytime Lawler is here was a shitshow. With guvernment I've just decided that you either have to have the mindset to be able to deal with it and still have fun or not .
We made the most of it, and having tons of friends around made it better.
Skybar was just as packed, and a little chilly, but truely enjoyable. I love it up there and Lawler was fantastic.
One big huge Happy Birthday to RJ, it was a pleasure to spend your b day with you, you are a good friend!

I almost wish the Skybar set was a smaller shindig with an added ticket price on it so that you could weed out the facktards with no clue as to who is spinning or where they are for that matter. I would gladly pay an extra $15-20 to be guaranteed a 4-5 hour Lawler sunrise set with less sketch, more tunes.
Or that Lawler would play Sonic instead next time.

Lawler being just "okay"? well everyone has their own music tastes and club experiences. i can respect that. i thought it was more than "just" okay, great vibe, good weather, beautiful sunrise, some fresh air to breathe (as oppose to being inside the guv) and more importantly some wiked people dancing to the sounds of Lawler |

my fave of the mornin

My friends are sooo hot!!

My favourite picture all night...

amazing night, best time i've ever had at guvernment! Nathan was amazing and so was lawler. i didnt have a chance to see dekoze or anyone else for that matter cause i had my spot up front with michelle in guv and we danced with or without room didnt have a care in the world!
Smart to head up to skybar before everyone else and stayed up at front with my hat and glasses on and danced again without a care and with or without room until about 8am my legs gave out almost they were shaking so bad!! dancing from 10:30pm until 8am might do that to ya!
Only complaint....snotty pretty boys and girls up on skybar...bumping into me and giving me a dirty looks. That's my only complaint about toronto...or anywhere for that matter, snottiness!! Too many freshly painted faces and fake tans and cliques!!
But for the other 95% of the crowd u all rocked!!
Sasha and Tyler...nice to meet ya's ur awesome!
Cherry beach after with michelle and Mikey was amazing the tunes the vibes the two dancing guys on the beach, getting snuggled all day by mikey .... put a smile on my face. So nice to see there's something to do and somewhere to come together to listen to more music, high or not and great attitudes! Ur so lucky to have what u do in toronto we have nothing of the sort here nor the type of people to pull it off!
To all those that are complaining about sketchy, u dont even know till u venture out of toronto heheh
xoxo to all that i met and didnt meet amazing night !! House music is life!!!!!!
cribby wish i woulda seen ya more but i was ALLLLL OVER THE PLACE lol

They didnt look classy at all, felt like they were picked up at a local top40 club and brought in to dance the the rest of the morning. |

what a night!!!
Lawler is the man, one of the best nights of the year for me.
what dirty tunes, the night really flew bye.
Barato was also amazing.
Only disapointment of the night was constantly getting shoved.. mostly from fucking girls. Trying to get up to the skybar after Lawlers set was insane.
But all and all an amzing night with good freinds
Had a blast!!.. ran into Richard..
would do it all over again..
Except the part where my car window was smashed..

Had an awesome nite out, went solo but was never alone thanks to the over-abundance of TAs out in full force, met a bunch of new ones and old ones and was a great blast partying it up with you all.
Really enjoyed Barato's opening set, got the night started off pretty well. By the time Lawler came on it was way too rammed in Guvy so up to The Drink I go where M&S were just dropping sick sick beats. Stayed to the very end of Lawler's Skybar set but the only complaint I have is that due to last years problem they turned down the music and at times it was really hard to hear the music over everybody's chatter. All in all I give it a 8/10.
I had a great time at this event, but man, they let just about anybody up into Skybar/The Drink these days. The crowd really killed my vibe, but Lawler did not disappoint, so everything evens out I guess.
