And we don't get the AVB Remix of Rapture, which was rare as rocking horse shit when it came out.

There's also far too much Ferry Corsten and nowhere near enough (ie: any) BT or PVD. One or possibly two Ferry tracks is alright as he did a lot for trance, but seven Ferry tracks?

System F feat. Armin van Buuren - Exhale
Art Of Trance - Madagascar (Ferry Corsten Remix)
System F - Cry
Gouryella - Gouryella

this one seems a bit out of a place.....

Gotta disagree with you on that one. I've been into the scene for years now and, especially having just recently purchased my dj gear, I'll definitely be picking this up for the unmixed versions of these tracks.

Posted by GrimReaper on Aug-02-2006 08:15:

The compilation seems to be very predictable indeed, no surprises there which is a shame. LOL and why Zombie Nation - Kernkraft 400 is there? Was it really necessary? I sincerely hope this tracklist isn't the final one....

I doubt that's the original Born Slippy which is a TOTALLY DIFFERENT and pretty much commonly unknown track compared to the million times remixed Born Slippy.NUXX everyone knows of.

9. Hybrid - Finished Symphony

How is this trance really or is breaks concidered as trance nowadays, except for a very few trancey breakers in the style of Symmetry C (Lange remix)? Hybrid's Echoplex Mix would have been closer as it's a 4by4 version but i don't think that as trance either.

Hehe. Maybe he should have just included them all on one CD and called it The Ferry Corsten Disc.

lol, i have almost all of those track in full lenght on cd already, so i won't be buying this. but i can't really say it's a bad compliation though as i've bought most of these and still like them very much. sure, most of them are overplayed as hell, but they're classics, so wtf would you expect.

(oh and maybe armin should release a compilation which has more forgotten "classics" as well, like "beat pusher - rokki", which Rebel9 mentioned. it would probably sell well because armin compiled it and it would maybe introduce some "new" old tunes to people. but i doubt this will ever happen and i'll probably never get rokki on cd in full lenght! (i fucking love that tune))

Posted by DJ Nickazz on Aug-02-2006 14:52:

Much flaming on the cd but screw you all: I'm going to buy it!
I'm not into trance for so long. I really started buying cd's and stuff in 2003(!) So I don't have many classics on vinyl or full cd versions, only mixed cd's with some of them. So why hunting al these tunes on vinyl when I can buy them now on one compilication!
For you guys who already have them on vinyl or whatever just leave it.
And maybe not all of them but come on there are true classics on the tracklist.

Posted by ilya49 on Aug-02-2006 15:26:

i would wana see way out west - killa
if each cd has only 9 songs, how long is each song, about 9 minutes?

I saw many many beautiful tunes and that was my spontaneous reaction, besides, it was late. Now everyone is brainstorming what should have been on there instead, and I'm in the proces of doing so myself. BT & PVD, ok; I'll give you 2 other names: M.I.K.E. & Airwave.

Posted by TOR on Aug-02-2006 18:49:

Yep, the compilation misses a couple of Bonzai trance classics, like Fire & Ice - Silent Cry or Push - Strange World (2000 Remake).
I guess you can't include everything.

Posted by eye_03 on Aug-03-2006 04:01:

is this still official???

i'd like to see John Vesta - gull
and lost tribe - gamemaster

oh, and space maneouvers - stage one. haha i have such a hard on for that song when i first heard it on sasha and diggers' expeditions

Posted by TrancEver on Aug-03-2006 08:54:

gonna be great...looking forward to see a decade of asot one day

Tony Walker - Field Of Joy (Original Mix)
Clint Fabian & DJ R. Kay - Panorama (Original Mix)
Human Evolution - Human Evolution (Club Mix)
Mogwai - Hunted By A Freak (Attention Deficit's Leave A Light On Remix)
Limited Growth - No Fate (Quadran Mix)
Fractal Structure - Lost Sequence (Haak's Subliminal Cowbell Remix)
Active Sight - The Search For Freedom
Moogwai - Labyrinth (Part 1)
U.S.U.R.A. - Open Your Mind

My resulting explosion of joy would have caused global nuclear winter.
Some really nice tunes that deserved a spot in terms of classicness (imo) and my personal taste:

System F - Elevate
Fire & Ice - Souvenir De Chine (Original Mix)
DuMonde vs. Lange - Memory (Original Mix, not sure though; The Beautiful Mix, yeah, that one)
Gouryella - Ligaya
Push - The Legacy (Club Mix)
Airwave - Above The Sky
Moon Project - Moments Are Forever
Yves Deruyter - The Rebel
Vincent De Moor - Shamu

Posted by JasonThomas on Aug-04-2006 00:02:

meh. the tracklisting def doesn't impress me. no BT is a travesty as already mentioned. But also no Chicane?!?! WTF?

oh well. will probably grab it as it's worth it for the 8 or so tracks that I want.

If you're intending to DJ, why would you want to get tracks everyone else has played to death already?

So if you DJ you're not allowed to spin an older track? Think about what you're saying man.

Sure you're allowed to spin older, well-rinsed tracks. You just won't stand out from the pack, that's all.

Of course, if you're just DJing for fun, this ain't a problem.

Posted by john2 on Aug-04-2006 10:28:

So in other words.....DJ-ing became the sport in which someone should stand out from the pack in order to say <> whether he likes the tracks or not. Damn and i remember they were saying some months ago that most people were DJ-ing cause they loved it huh?Yeah right . Anyway if he likes the tunes he should play them and personally i don't give a f*ck whether the tune is overplayed or not.If i like it,i'll still enjoy it when i'll hear it in a set. I want the DJ to have the balls and say <> instead of <>

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Aug-04-2006 14:23:

No, he's saying that any DJ can play the same epic trance hits, and while it'll make everyone dance it won't be doing anything unique or original. Why would a promoter book you to play the same tracks any other Joe can play?

Obviously I'm not gonna go down the tracklist and play them all. I think you're missing the point that john2 gets.

Posted by shades_of_gray on Aug-04-2006 16:59:

Rather predictable, yes there are some great tunes on there.

I wont be buying it cos i have 90% of the tunes on either vinyl or cd single anyway.
