I like it, it's not that Goa as I though it would be. Personally I like melodies which stay in your head all day and clear, but not to sharp synthesizer sounds, combined with a strong "German Techno" like beats.
ASOT Trance happens to play a lot of such tracks.
Before ASOT I always listend to the (Dance Department) Ministry Of Sound sessions of a Dutch radio station, which is simular to ASOT in my view.

I like a bit of human blue now and then (say once in a six year period) but this is israeli edged kitch trash(trance) for wasted fluorescent kitch hippies with less then one third of their neurons alive. Really bad bad bad dance "music"(?).Oh , and please please don't compare this TRASH with the classic trance of dance 2 trance, cosmic baby etc...they have NO RELATION or whatsoever!!!

it's closer to classic trance than most of the Tiesto/Armin stuff with 3 min hands in the air break with shitloads of vocals shouting "Fly with me into the purple clouds in eternity"

LOL, that was actually a good line you posted there! Please see the lyrics of the last "filo and peri" track about a couple that miss having sex in the kitchen or something lolll.Anyway both sub-genres have largely deviated form the original classic berlin trance and both epic and psy bear absolutely no relation to it. Music-wise, i think that somehow epic is a bit closer to classic, they somehow have similar emotional melodies, although melodies in classic were not sssooo overstated as in epic/anthem and also were more varied and inspired.

To tell you the truth im very fed-up with any form of psy(prog-psy included) i find it to be as cheap as the anthem stuff, i mean look at the melodies in this human blue stuff, they are typical israeli-psy-by-numbers, its trash. Psy in greece was so over-played in the 90s, hell, it was easier to find than the mainstream stuff. I remember talking to friends about trance and they used to respond with phrases like "oh yeah, astral projection and MFG they are awesome" and i used to tell them about "paul oakenfold" and "tiesto" and they were like "what???Who are these guys???" Seriously!!!Anyway, i'm listening again to "moon spirits" by dance 2 trance, probably one of the best trance albums ever IMO!

Never heard of the guy until I saw this thread as I've been lost in psy for over a year now. So I thought I'd check him out. I check out Mirella and I liked it. He seems to use a lot of grindy sounds in this track which I love. I will check his other stuff out.

Posted by flavdave on Aug-14-2006 05:27:

I just checked out a sample for his "remix" of Open Our Eyes. What a fucking joke. It's shit.

Posted by Lokhn on Aug-14-2006 12:10:

I think he is a good producer, and I like alot of his stuff,
but what he's doing atm is totally wrong.. He's pouring out a track a week, all with quite a similar sound, thus wearing out himself quite fast.. He should be releasing fewer tracks , wich will keep the tracks more interesting when they first are released...

why dont you shut the fuck up. everyone here can put their own opinion how they see fit. most people arent even flaming, they are putting what they think of his tracks. having releases on tons of labels does not make you a good producer, so it seems these days (with all the crap thats coming out). i have only heard 2 tracks by this guy, Remember which ithought was really good and the Remix of Legend B which i didnt like too much. why dont you go listen to music you like and forget about what everyone else says about it. stop trying to convince others to like what you like. ive read reviews about some of my favorite progressive tracks and they were getting bashed in the reviews, but i dont give a fuck as long as i like them.

Sean's greatest tune so far is by far Lift (IMO). Apart from that i've heard his remix of "Open Your Eyes" and i didn't like it,nowhere as good as his own productions (or even his remix of Sander Van Doorn - Punk'd). So i'll have to wait and see what he'll do next. But damn,Lift is great

Posted by gizzymcg on Aug-15-2006 15:11:

There has been Sean Tyas overload in the past few months. Much like when John O'Callaghan burst onto the scene. Bottom line was JOC never made anything as good as Mannix - Mercury on his own and Tyas may well be the same with "Lift".

Im not a great fan of all of his re edits and so on. They are just simple harder rehashings a lot like PVD does to almost all of the tunes he plays out. But his material does have a lot of energy and does good things on the dance floors. It certainly did in Ibiza in the last couple of weeks while i was there.

There is a case for having too much of one person. He should def go back to the studio and find a suitable follow up to Lift if he does then he can be counted among the very good trance producers going around. If he doesnt then hes prob just goin to be a flash in the pan this year.

the track isn't shit, it's uncalled for. the 'no piano' mix is basically the insigma mix with a new kick & bassline tweaking to fit that. the other is abysmal, it just doesn't do anything worthwhile.

Posted by isoterra on Aug-15-2006 23:02:

until reading this thread i was unaware it was even a remix at all, assumed it was just a re-edit with the original kick & bass hi-passed out & sean's layered on top.. have the synths etc been redone too?

not joking around here, it's been a while since i've heard the original so can't recall if it's the same

I tend to disregard rubbish, so that unfortunately didn't leave much to be taken seriously; dare I say, much like yourself.
