and u dont seem to grasp that it doesnt matter if he plays live or not however he plays he is still putting a set together so should be included in the poll if people enjoyed his sets then they vote for him.

i remember seeing nu-nrg at wildchild once last year & they started their set with system f - out of the blue. so i'm guessing they can't have been performing live

It obviously can't be drilled through all of your thick fucking skulls to understand that certain words have certain meanings. A DJ poll is just that, a poll on who is the best DJ. It is not a poll on the best producers or who puts together the best live sets. Hell, the Killers and the Prodigy all use electronic instruments and put together live sets. Should we include them, too??

Who are you talking about? I'm talking about Junkie XL, you're obviously just as unable to follow a discussion just as much as yourself and many others are unable to differentiate between a DJ and a live act.

He's just trying to speak in a language people will understand because obviously, coherent arguments just fly over most people's heads.

I would just like to point out that you singled me out to attack first and I was talking about Junkie XL before any Nu-NRG comments were made.

what that got to do with putting a constructive post? do even know what it means? does it matter anyway this isnt a english lesson as long as people know what i mean theres no problem just like i knew what u meant with ur stupid abreviated word

what are those i think people should have to think about what im writing all teh time because i cant take the time to make extra keystrokes typing silly commas and periods you people need to get a life and realize that all i have to say is important and determining where one thought ends and another begins is stupid for the whole argument makes sense all you hundreds of people reading this should take time out to understand me

The whining/cat fighting in this thread is unbelievable.

Some of you are akin to teenage girls fighting over the popular boy in class. Get a grip.

Sorry

You don't help much when you include non-DJs in the drop down menu, though. If you wanted it to include live PAs, producers, etc, that should be spelled out in the original post or don't call it a "Top 250 DJs Poll." Call it the top 250 EDM Acts Poll or something.

Junkie XL has stated he's not a DJ, which is where my argument comes from
quote:
Wolfie: I see you in many DJ centric magazines. Do you people ever mistake you for a DJ?

Junkie XL: I AM NOT A DJ. I only play live with computers. I've never played with records in my life. Well actually I did one time when I was so drunk.

I can produce records, but I can't microwave my burrito and I cannot put two records into synch. I didn't want to be that next producer that also wants to be a dj. I stick to playing live with my computers. I have to say, playing live these days comes very close to what certain djs are doing. If you look at Sasha he's playing live with Abelton with sound clips. That gets very close to how I play live. 10 years ago I would have two or three big racks of samplers and synths up on stage. Now, most of it is software on the computer.
