I agree 100%, and the atmosphere extended beyond the DJ's. The people were less pushy, and more friendly in the Tent.

i had an amazing time last night :

now wit hthat being said, i have to mention something

FUCK YOU GUV !!!!! the setup to walk from one room to the other in that giant fucking circle was understandable with so many ppl.... yes it was annoying but i can live with that. BUT !!!! halfway thru the night one of the bouncers decided to baricade off the way down from the drink ( not the stairs u come up) and was charging 5 bucks to let you down the stairs, otherwise u would be forced to sqeeeze with everyone else trying to get both up and down the stairs from drink/guv

a giant fuck you, that is the most disgusting thing i have ever seen

Got into the club at around 1 am.... line up was only 20 min.

Stayed in the main room till 5 am. Hernan was amazing and there was sooo much room to dance in the mainroom, it was great.. Best night in the mainroom for sure. Then the master John Digweed came on... His music was something else. All my friends were in the kool house but i jus couldnt leave that mainroom it was perfect...

At one point some women was saying that digweed needs to play harder... Not even he was absolutly amazing.....

Finally decided to check out the kool house at 5 am, and i jus couldnt get into Trance after such a sick time in the mainroom...

Ferry wasnt very good in the begining, but after i thnk 8:30 - 10 am WOW he was dropping amazing trance classics with massive breakdowns... i was way overdue and needed rest but ferry jus kept me there in suspence waiting to see wat tune will be NExt...

BEST FUCKING NIGHT EVER

Posted by TWave on Sep-04-2006 23:54:

Flec i second that... i saw he got spit on a couple times!

other than that.. what an amazing morning.. the tent was absolutely amazing.. did anyone else see those dudes in the stilts?

Digweed killed it! Benny was meh.. and the drink was great...

Nope the far seats at skybar not by the DJ booth at all. More so towards the exit area...during Satisfaction for example you couldn't hear a thing and the whole crowd even says awww...

To some people its not boring, to some it is. But hes one of the few that always plays many of there own tunes. He always drops like 6 or 7 tunes that are his. Which at time could be ridiculous..

Posted by sensorika on Sep-05-2006 00:20:

That was my first time at a big guvernment party. wow is all i can say! First off the crowd there was really wikkid mature and just there to have fun. I met a guy who came from vermont jus to party. I liked armins set alot. alot of ppl think plastic fantastic is crap but it works in a club thats fursher. loved seein armin for the first time hes always smiling and dancing was a good set. Ferrys set was good but i got tired by 7 am so i had to leave unfortunately. I hate ppl that hog the sofas other ppl need to rest too

Eh. He's like Nu NRG. He sounds so much better when he plays his own stuff. The 'Ferry Corsten' sound.
Though he still manages to blend other producers' tunes into his sound.

Hey peeps: here comes my review [gonna be another long one], enjoy it if you read it

Went to LOL2006 with essentially all the same amazing people that I went to B&J with last Saturday--last night was just another perfect example of how cool these people really are--> SOOOO much fun to party with. So, we got to the KH line-up probably around 9:40pm or so: we all managed to make it through the line-up (get frisked, give tickets, etc) in about 15 minutes. We all walked into the KH and at that time it wasn't too packed at all: there definitely were people already partying but it was no where near how packed it eventually got. Here's an example of how cool all of Matt's (cf2thousand's) friends are: the second we got inside KH, Mel, Michelle, and I immediately made our way to the boxed, raised platform and started dancing--if I remember correctly, we were the first ppl in the whole club to get up on the platforms I stayed up there dancing for probably about 45 mins or so and then headed down to the floor right up against the gates marking off the dj booth, listening to Mark Oliver's set. To be honest, I was rather unimpressed with M.O.'s set: I thought he was absolutely amazing last week closing for B&J, but last night he was wayyyyy too house-y for me (sorry guys, I haven't made what appears to be the common evolution from trance to house, I LOVE trance and that's where I'm staying for now lol).

Then, at midnight, the crowd went nuts: Armin made his way onto the stage, conversed with M.O. for a bit, and took over. It was my first time (obviously) ever seeing Armin live and he killed it!!! I danced and danced and danced to everyone of the tracks he dropped. Plus, he seemed soooo pumped up and happy to be spinning: he was smiling the entire time and totally giving it to the crowd--> I loved all the times he took his headphones off and encouraged the crowd to get as loud as possible, amazing!

Armin finished up and then Junkie hit the stage. Simply stated, I thought Junkie was AMAZING! For only a 1hr set, he delivered, big time. He threw down a lot of great tracks, including his 'Today' single off his latest album. Most of all though, Junkie rocked b/c of his energy and enthusiam!!!! He sang along to everyone of the tracks he played and he jumped around the stage like there was no tomorrow--he totally got me and kept me pumped throughout his whole set.

Then came another first for me: Ferry Corsten! Ferry was great too. I heard about 2/3rds of his set since I left the club around 8:30am. His set was really good: a lot of great tunes and a lot of crowd pleasers. The only thing that I did not really enjoy about his set was what he played between (around) 7-8am: it sounded like techno to me or maybe it was electro-trance or whatever-the-fuck it's called lol, but either way I didn't enjoy it b/c it was difficult to dance to and when you're on your 10th hr of dancing, you don't wanna be wasting energy trying to move to music you're not really enjoying. Although I am not sure, I believe that he started to play all sorts of epic trance right about the time I was leaving the club (the last 1.5 hrs of his set).

Alright, so that's the story (what I did, when I did it, etc) to my night; now let me mention as many of the highlights of the night as I can remember (in no particular order):
1) 5 words: I danced for 10 HOURS!!! I can't believe it! In all seriousness, I danced from 10pm-8am without stopping at all, minus the 2 mins or so every couple of hrs to grab some water. All you people who saw me on the podium all night long can attest to this fact! Equally as important, I had soooo much fun dancing: the podiums were really cool, especially b/c you could jump around like mad when a build-up dropped since there were support bars forming a box around the stage.
2) I met and got my picture taken (along with Rich) with Junkie XL. I'll post the pic when I get it off Rich / Matt. I told Junkie how energetic he was and that I loved his set.
3) Meeting Kristina Wow, you are SUCH a beautiful woman, really. To be honest, our meeting was a little weird and way too quick imo haha: I was not expecting, at all, to see you so early in the night and so I was caught by surprise and kinda thrown-off as to what to say. Furthermore, I thought I'd see you again at some point during the night, but nope Anyways, it was great to meet you and the next time we hit up the same event, we'll have a real conversation or something haha.
4) After only about 5 mins of dancing, some dood starting taking pics of me--> that started my night out on a good vibe.
5) Within about an hour of being at the KH, the woman in the following picture came up to me and we had the following conversation: "Hi, how r u, etc etc...where are you from?" "I'm from Mississauga, Canada" "Where are you from?" "I'm from Minnesota [I *think--it was a U.S. state that started with 'M' either way]" "Oh that's cool" "Well anyways, I just wanted to tell you that you are amazing!" "O, thank you so much" and then we parted ways.....Honestly, I was flattered haha, what a nice thing for this woman to say to me, awesome way start to the night.

6) I met soooooo many ppl last night. I met a bunch of TAs that I had never seen before. Actually, a bunch of ppl came to introduce themsevles since they recognized me from here....one or two ppl who had never met me even knew I was the official TA nooblar lol! I took soooo many pics with sooo many ppl last night.
7) Seeing the familar faces of TA that I hadn't seen in a bit: Cam, Sasha, Dima, Jax, Pawel, all you guys & gals, you know who you are. I was especially happy as hell to see Nada and Ali again: Ali had a smile on his face all night long and Nada did nothing but dance and follow EVERY SINGLE ONE of Armin's moves--> it only took the few hrs of Armin's set for me to see just how much of a fan Nada is of Armin. Hahaha, at one point during the night Nada was passing by the podium and I wanted to say Hi and flash a smile at her but the only way I could get her attention was to reach down and tap her on the head: as she was turning around I saw her form the most displeased, and annoyed face ever and I was like ooooo fuck [I don't blame her, from what I saw, she had ppl and ppl and ppl just tapping her on the shoulder, trying to talk to her all night long] but then as soon as she saw that it was me she gave me a big smile and it was all good. I meant to get a picture taken of us three, but I don't think it happened
8) Michelle, again, was a wonderful part of my night: she was just as friendly and kind as last Saturday--she musta gotten me water like 5 times throughout the night and at 8am when I was ready to chill out and basically call it a night, she came with me no questions asked. And, again, she killed the dancefloor: I remember when I was dancing on the floor I looked behind me every so often to see her moving like crazy on the podium. I hope her and I got some more pictures taken together, I'm pretty sure we did. Miche, I gotta say it again: thank you sincerely.
9) I met the coolest TA (I think he's a TA) ever last night--hands down this guy was one of the best parts of my night--> this guy was the DEFINITION of happy! I cannot remember exactly how we first met, but we ran into each other like 20 times that night. I believe-though I cannot remember for sure-that he said his name was Mike....He was wearing a green or grey hat with a lip last night: I definitely wanna get his ID confirmed b/c I soooo wanna party with him again. It seemed like once or twice every hour I'd look down and see this guy having the time of his life with a huge smile on his face, I musta shook his hand like 20 times haha. Such a friendly guy. He definitely knows how to enjoy a trance build-up: he was moving like the music was rocking throughout his entire body. Dood I hope you read this, I wanna kick it with you again, and I really hope I get a chance to see the pics you took (especially since I'm in some of them haha).
10) Rich--I partied with this guy the whole night basically, and for a solid 4/5 hrs or so from about 2-6am. Dood we had a blast together, I had such a sick time partying with you. You're definitely the kind of person that I like being around at events like these. Same with Matty: even though I didn't get a chance to kick it with you for most of the night, we had fun together when you were in the KH. Thx again boys.
11) These girls

First off, I didn't even get a chance to meet them b/c they were located right in front of the DJ booth for Ferry for his entire set and I didn't wanna try to make it through the jam-packed crowd and go bother them when they were obviously having SUCH a good time watching Ferry. But, the point is, I fed off their energy for hours: they were all smiles all night, especially the one in the orange, and since I was up on the podium all night I was able to watch their excitement and use it to give me more fuel to dance dance dance. I definitely made eye-contact and smiled at them a bunch of times throughout the night (I'm pretty sure they weren't laughing AT me lol). I'm disappointed I didn't get a chance to meet them: the only one that I recognize from TA is the one on the far left, i.e. Lisa-loo (unless I'm mistaken). Anyways, I hope to meet you girls one night...you'd probably remember my face if you saw it again, so the next time you see me at an event, come say hi.
12) The numerous TAs I met--the best part about it was just meeting soooo many friendly people...the TOTA community is the nicest bunch of ppl I've ever met and last night was another demonstration of it. Essentially, I told one of the TAs (I'm pretty sure I said it to Jenn when I met her again) that it is ppl like her who make TA such a great thing to be a part of: everybody is so welcoming, it's awesome. And P.S. Jenn, it was awesome seeing you again, I was glad you came right up onto the podium with me

**I just want to say a sincere THANK YOU to everyone who made my night awesome and I am especially thankful to each and every person who introduced themsevles to me, I absolutely love when someone new comes up to say Hi, especially if they are on TA**.

Alright, um, here are a couple of pics, I am patientaly waiting to see a bunch of more pics from Sasha, Matt, and others:

I would not be surprised at all if I left out some awesome parts of the night: I am still super tired, so if I have forgotten to mention your name / something that happened between us, I apologize.

People, please please please put up all the pics / vids you took of the night asap

One last thing: was it as good, worse, or better for me than B&J last week? Lemme say this: B&J was my first edm event ever and for that reason it will probably be the (or one of the) greatest events ever: I experienced so many things that night that I had never before--the night was magical. Having said that, last night was still awesome too. It was better in a few ways, especially the fact that I did so much dancing and really just let myself go and move like mad (I've never had so much fun dancing, I fucken love it). Also, last night I saw / met soooo many more people than last time. Either way, these last 2 weeks will be unforgettable.

Actually, here is the last thing: over the next couple of months I will be hibernating to an extent. School is starting up again for me: it's my final year and I am extremely dedicated (and even stubborn) when it comes to my studying so I am quite sure that I will not be attening any events between now and my December break. We'll see. In no way, AT ALL, do I mean to disrespect any of you awesome TAs, but in order for me to succeed, I have to stay incredibly focused on school. I'll still be on the forums and stuff probably, but chances are you will not see me at an event over the next few months. And, Yes, I realize this means I will probably miss the 10 yr Guv anniversary

You guys rock,

Nick.

p.s. shit I wrote a lot, oh well

p.p.s. it's already started: everytime I listen to a trance set now, I get depressed b/c I know it's gonna be a good while before I get to experience the magic of live EDM again....*wanna cry* haha

Posted by FunkyCrew on Sep-05-2006 00:53:

^^ whoa Nick, someone is good at creative writing thank for the compliment, I feel very flattered was great meeting ya too! I believe we shook hands later on too! and you are SO tall what is this with EDM scene and tall boys? not like i'm complaining or anything!
