for me its the other way, when i see a dj actually having fun it pumps me up and the crowd plus i leave the club with a very sattisfied feeling. Otherwise it's like meh, who cares it feels like hes playing for himself or trying to get the job done and go home.
Hes a very good dj and i've had amazing times at guv before on a Spin Saturday but he does not suprise me anymore..
Last time i actually liked what MO played was the Classic Tracks Saturday event last year where he was actually having lots of fun.

But man do they know how to party If only the rest of the crowd weren't so boring

blahblahblah wat do u guys know anyway?! If Deep Dish came to the guv under a different name, and spun in secrecy, they'd throw it down and you would all love it and wonder wtf was spinning. Oh yea, and PAul Oakenfold owns you !

P.S. Addy is better than half the "top international DJs"

They call them Sleep Dish because they're already at home sleeping when the double D's start throwing down the hardcore choonage! You gotta wait til 8 in the morning people!

Posted by Matt on Sep-30-2006 22:20:

Deep Dish. They are a great act, but they are here so often now it isn't special.

Armin van Buuren... he's way past his prime, sorry to say.

Tiesto... you know why.

Dumonde... it was special when they came to Viva for the first time in 2003... now its just gotten boring.

Nu-NRG... half-assed live PA.

Posted by Shade on Sep-30-2006 22:27:

Second Sun - last time they were here I wanted to kill myself; destroyed all energy I had. I literally ended up falling asleep during their set(which is surprising because terrible singing usually distracts the hell out of me). I hope NEVER to see them again

Armin van Buuren: I only saw him "bring it" once, and that was at Trance Energy 2006. After that he's just played too proggy and boring for me.

I'm with u bt see him @ San Fransisco this year for ex...
My list:
1.Deep Dish
2.Randy Katana 4 his daamn production.....any1 know him!
3.Pvd

I would have to add Addy on that list now....this guy is too fucked up...he literally plays around with the mixer

I saw 2ManyDJs last night and they play Electroclash and they ABSOLUTELY DESTROYED THE PLACE. Also if you think electro is so bad, then you clearly dont like: Digweed/Lawler/Sander/Seb Fontaine? And if you dont like 2 or more of those DJs you're a total n00b and should retire from the scene and never go out anymore. And please dont even bother responding with "MUSIC IS PERSONAL PREFERENC", yes it is, to an extent, but if you like trance and diss electro you're stupid because one genre was around a longtime before the other and will remain around a lot longer for a reason. HINT: THE GENRE THAT WONT BE AROUND FOR A WHILE STARTS WITH A T AND ENDS WITH RANCE!!!

Toronto blows. My post probably wont even get read cause I didnt use a colored font.

As for DJs I'll never go and see again:

1) Danny Tenaglia
2) Tiesto
3) Armin
4) Ferry
5) Tiga
6) Any hardcore/hard trance/gabber DJ
7) Pretty much all techno djs
8) Pretty much all trance djs too
9) Prolly all Toronto Djs also, DJ CN Tower, lawl.

LOL What a fuckin douche. All you MTL'ers are the same. I'm trying to figure out what the DJ's you listed at the top there have to do with Electro though.

DJ's I don't really wanna see again:

Lawler: Just not a fan of his sound anymore. I like electro-minimal and all that crap, but it needs a groove. His stuff is way too up and down for me nowadays, so I'm taking a break from him for a while.

Sander K: Man...this guys will always be the biggest "WTF" for me. His sound used to have so much depth; but now everytime I hear him play its the same obvious-sounding electro-house tunes. All the bangers.

Manzone & Strong: all they play is HARD. Like Sander, everything they play sounds like the "Top 40" of house.

I'll tell you who I never want to see anymore:

Jon Jon.

Since he changed his TA name, he's sold out with big tracks IMO.

haha

You might have had a point if the Oakie thing didn't kick in at the end. Sorry man

"This is the typical ONE MINDED bullshit I am so sick of hearing in this city!!! Anytime someone new comes around T.O. and they are not part of the deejay MONOPOLY ruining the scene here........everyone puts them down because they don't PLAY THE TUNES all those other deejays play. VERY FEW people in TORONTO ACTUALLY pay attention to mixing, etc..... and I can say from personal experience none of those people exist in clubs here in Toronto. (GUV, TIL, to name a few) THE ONLY CLUB THAT DID IS GONE.....System Soundbar! AND THE ONLY PEOPLE REALLY MAKING MOVES ARE THE ONES WHO AREN'T STUCK IN THAT POLITICAL MESS!!! WHO CARES WHO PLAYS HERE AND THERE.......DON'T YOU WANT TO HELP THE SCENE INSTEAD OF PUTTING MONEY IN YOUR WALLETS??? That is ALL PEOPLE CARE ABOUT HERE......NOT THE MUSIC!!! Catch me in T.O. while you can because as soon as I can get out of this political MESS I'm gone!!! PEOPLE WANT TO SEE NEW DEEJAYS, NEW TALENT......and DEFINATELY NEW TUNES!!! Not 5 deejays all playing the same tunes.....just different times of the night......BULL SHIT!!!! People pay money to see you play.....PLAY like you DESERVE your RESIDENCY......NOT JUST BECAUSE YOUR THERE!!! Your time is coming.,......ENJOY IT WHILE IT LASTS!!!

THE CURRENT TORONTO DEEJAYS HAVE ALOT OT PROVE TO ME.....YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE..... (NOT SEAN MILLER or GREG GOW...Their names say enough!)

wow, who pissed in your cheerios ? ? lol
Anyway, I agree that local toronto talent is pumpin alot of the same tunes, but that's what's hot right now and u can thank beatport for that! Obviously at regular resident nights at TIL or the guv your gonna hear the regular commercial tracks, regardless of who's spinning them. My comment about Addy has very little to do with his track selection, the guy can really mix and he is fantastic at every EVENT.
btw..going out to TIL or the guv on a regular resident night expecting not to hear industry shit is like turning on MuchMusic not expecting to see the pussy cat dolls..

Addy? r u serious? the guy cuts the bass for 5 minutes at a time so he can talk to his fan club of girls. i used to enjoy his sets but now he makes me want to sleep. TURN THE BASS UP! and quit talking to girls. can you honestly say that you have never noticed this?

Posted by dr3w on Oct-03-2006 00:23:

haven't seen him do that, no.. but yea that would be pretty lame..
