How do you do it?

Yeah I'm gonna go ahead and say my method is way better than yours. Sure I was exaggerating saying 10 seconds but definitely under a minute for sure most likely around 20-30 seconds.

All you have to do is load the track. Hit warp, manually enter the correct BPM, line up the first marker then go the the end of the track (this is what takes the longest waiting for ableton to process all the way to the end of the track)and line up the last beat but don't set it as a warp marker (leave it gray not green).

I dunno, that seems prone to error. I mean ableton doesn't ALWAYS get it right... don't you still want to check it?

Still pretty similar to what I do, I just check the match against the kick... then I KNOW it's warped right.

Certainly beats the old way of manually warping the whole damn track though.

The real time consuming part of ableton is breaking up those tracks into nice useful loops.

For someone with a huge music collection, it can be daunting. But as long as you start doing it over time, it's not so bad.

to many pages on this thread to read through so can someone give me any advice.

i was going to buy SS but think it is too expensive and now i'm really interested in buying Conectiv. Is this for me???

i have a laptop 1.7ghz pentium M with 1GB ram. will it run on this setup?

also, i don't really care for using it live. i simply want to use mp3s through vinyl and maybe add a few effects. i mix house and dnb and very little turntablism stuff.

any advice appreciated...

Mikee, your PC have good enough specs to run Conectiv smoothly with no problem m8.

Yea, warping is real quick, as quick as setting up the tempo of a track if you know what you're doing, and doing it like Zild does, it's easy.

Posted by Ryan0751 on Oct-14-2006 17:17:

And you only have to do it once!

I DO check it. That's why I manually enter the BPM myself instead of letting Ableton figure it out and thats why I make sure the first and last beat are dead on because if they are then the rest of the song is dead on too. You can loop on the fly using the arrangement view. If you have a multi channel soundcard you can cue (warp, loop, cut, chop, etc...) on the fly you don't have to prep your stuff first.

I bought this a few days ago. Ive only messed around with Final Scratch when it first came out. I went to the Guitar Center to buy a Dual Mp3 player and ended up buying Torq. First off, Im really and I mean really stoked about it. It feels like a whole new world of Djing for me. Im really tired of spending way too much money on vinyl. Now I can pay (a lot less money) to download high quality Mp3s and still use my turntables. Ive so far just did basic mixing, and not really messed around with the loops and other effects. But basic mixing is all I wanted overall. Im sure if I figure out how to use the loops and such it will make my Torq experience even better.

Again, for the price I dont think a person can go wrong. And believe me there was no way I was going to pay the money for FS 2 or the other program out there.

Im brand new to this MP3 world and now I know Ill never go back.

thanks mate, think it was released on monday cos dolphin said it was out of stock last week and on order.

ordering it tomorrow!!! can't wait. so, do i need to buy anything else? is this like SS and FS, plug in, configure and play? you don't need a soundcard etc... like djdecks?

thanks

As far as I know yeah it is, the Conectiv interface is a soundcard.

Posted by AGIPRODJ on Oct-24-2006 17:00:

Correct. The conectiv interface is a 4 pair ASIO sound card. 2 pair in/2 pair out. Full ASIO drivers. Full Core Audio compatibility.
