Originally posted by venomX Im not talking about the Cheops Pyramid, im merely pointing out that your theory about the Easter Island statues is wrong as it has been proved to a good extent how the statues would have been dragged and propped up. Also the carving is a no brainer, the tools they used where found at the quarries, along with statues at different stages of completion, so please save us the CT on this one, because there is plenty of evidence to the contrary. As far as the pyramids go, my guess is as good as yours when it comes to the mathemathical complexity of them.

Originally posted by Magnetonium These Easter Island stipulations make a lot of common sense, though I have some other ideas too ;-) and I am not 100% for them ... I think there's some missing pieces of history that arent accounted for in the official description, but I wont get to that! I am just curious though, do you really think it was aliens involved or is it just remnants from previous civilization that helped or built the Cheops Pyramid and then the Egyptians stole the idea and called it their emperor's burial place? Or do you stick with the main official story that Egyptians did build it all ... just curious at to what you're leaning to
Alright, how about another question: do you think our civilization started off on the ruins of the previous lost collapsed civilization, or did we merely develop like the history books say? What is your educated thought on this?
Archeological studies in Babylon area unearthed several layers of different cities built over on top of each other in different eras ... one city on top of another, about 3 different unique layers. And the whole story of the flood actually comes from Sumerian stories BTW, and Christians took it for their Bible as well.
i have a question. why do you find it so easy to ignore popularly accepted points of view in favour of outlandish claims? (ie 9/11, aliens, diana etc.)

I have some free time right now so ill read up a bit on this and get back to you. From what i know the information that has been proved to a reasonable extent and that is "mainstream" points to a development similar to what history books say. I wouldnt be amazed if things change or are corrected, or other information is added in the future, after all it has happened before and as our knowledge of the world increases its bound to happen again.

Originally posted by Magnetonium Thats not true ;-) You guys want the truth? Because I lived in a country where when it collapsed in a heap of smmoke, all the lies came out ... the entire Soviet Union was a lie on top of a lie on top of a lie. When American empire collapses, I'm pretty sure some of the truth will leak out ...

Originally posted by Magnetonium Since then I have always taken a neutral approach. I only believe in official story when there's undeniable and unbiased proof (if USA didnt invade Iraq or Afghanistan and didnt pass Patriot Act, I'd believe it was Osama Bin Laden!!!). You see?

I dont want to talk about this - this is not the thread, and quite frankly, it doesnt matter. Seems like you are reall bothered and curious why oh why I dont believe your sometimes arrogant and absurd statements, as much as you'd like to describe mine.
I don't have a problem with you following the pro-government doctrine, its your ass. I got my life, I've seen things you can only imagine. Wars, poverty, hunger, lies, corruption, greed, jealousy ... I was poor myself. I learned a lot. And thanks to this knowledge I am alive today. And nothing's going to change that.
You grew up in a comfortable western society, all fed and dressed. I came from a hell-hole, where our governments did same crimes as your people.
Both Soviets and Ammericans committed plenty of crimes around the world, against their own people, and against their enemies ... its been documented. You can call your fight in the name of democracy, which is a nice excuse. I dont buy it.
End of topic. Start a new thread, I might come, probably not. I want to tallk about aliens, paranormal and similar stuff on this thread, ok? Thanks!
I have a question. you like to hike right? Have you ever experienced something paranormal? or since you know where UFO's have been sighted-more than once- in the past decade why don't you go and see for yourself?
i dont have a pro-government doctrine you stupid presumptuous twit. i have an anti "i believe in magic and leprechauns and flying saucers over everything else" doctrine. big big difference.
youre not critical of the "evidence" of any of these issues, and you have a tendency to believe things that fit in with your pre-conceived notions.
ie unknown item in egyptian writing = alien technology.
renaissance art = irrefutable proof of flying saucers
fantastic engineering skill of the egyptian people = alien constructed pyramids.
you are too keen to place the incredible into perceived gaps in the narrative.
Looks like people have been seeing similar UFOs for hundreds if not thousands of years.
pkcRAISTLIN - if UFOs are not aliens, then what are they?
over imaginative witnesses. fakes. military aircraft. natural phenomenon.
the UFO fans were all excited about crop circles too until it became obvious they were stunts.
sorry, you're all gonna need more than your "i want to believe" analysis of art and hieroglyphics (sp?) to convince anybody of anything.

Originally posted by Cal Well military aircraft are pretty much out for Italy in the 1500s, so that leaves crazies, liars, and natural phenomena (also known as stuff that happens that modern science can't explain ).
quote:
Originally posted by Cal I don't know any natural phenomena that looks/behaves like a UFO, but I do know that UFO's fall under the "stuff that modern science can't explain," so explaining "stuff that can't be explained" by "stuff that happens in nature that can't be explained" is out too.

Originally posted by Cal Leaving liars and crazies. Now, lies/pranks/jokes being put in paintings like this at a time where people were getting tortured and burned for much less (think spanish inquisition) seems pretty ridiculous. People really were seeing those things.

Originally posted by Cal So it must be everyone that everyone that drew/commisioned a painting with a UFO in the background in 1500s Italy (in other words, the rich nobles and merchants, people with much to lose) was either insane or wanted problems with the Catholic Church.

Originally posted by Cal Your explanations just don't seem to stand on their own, friend.

Originally posted by Cal You remind me of me a few years ago when I was an atheist making fun of people who believed in God. I was such a smug bastard, and I was really hurting people when I threw science in their face and laughed at them. I realized something since then. Both people who strongly believe and people who don't believe in something like God, or aliens, or whatever, they see the same thing, but they either see it at a "glass is half-full, grass is half-empty" perspective.

Originally posted by Cal So when you come in a UFO thread and start your pimply fourteen year-old stuck up "prove it" attitude, it pisses me off.

In 1500s, Leonardo Va Vinci drew amazing diagrams and designs of advanced technology using his medieval mind ... helicopters, airplanes, and other technology - the first helicopter - Sikorskiy helicopter - was based/inspired by these designs.
Where do you think Leonardo Da Vinci got his ideas from? Do you think his ideas are just luck and coincidence - would it actually make more sense to conclude that his designs were based on something that he saw during his life, just like the painting from the era purport to show?
You just admitted that some of those pictures resemble some kind of alien or advanced technology unavailable at the time. Where do you think these ideas came from? Thats one heck of imagination these people had, I'd say.
yep, and the mona lisa was an extra terrestial too.
Oh whats the point. I may not be able to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that aliens exist, but you are not able to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that they do NOT exist. Difference between us is, unlike you, I don't come across as a condesending douchebag when I present my opinion.
PS - by the way, if you read some of the notes next to the photos on that UFO art webpage you'll find your precious documentation.

Domino or "cigar shaped" craft also appear in ancient art ~ Notabilia Temporum by Angelo de Tummulillis (left) describes a "flaming girder" sighted in February 1465 the sky during the reign of Enrico IV ~ a similar renaissance illustration (right) of a UFO sighting in that occurred in Rome detailed in the book "Prodigiorum Liber" by Roman historian Julio Obsequens. The caption translates: "Something like a sort of weapon, or missile, rose with a great noise from the earth and soared into the sky."
quote:
"The globes, crosses and tubes began to fight one another, and this went on for an hour. Then they all fell to earth, as if on fire, and faded slowly away producing a lot of steam. Afterwards a black spear-like object was seen, and the whole event was taken to be a divine warning."
quote:
The objects were described as being "two glowing wheels"

These images from the 12th century manuscript "Annales Laurissenses" (Latin for "volumes" or "books" about "historical and religious" events) depicts the Saxon siege of Sigiburg Castle, France, in the year 776. The Crusaders had the medieval French completely surrounded when the "flaming shields" suddenly appeared in the sky; (the manuscript reports this as being over a church). Assuming the French were being protected, the Saxons fled in fear from the UFOs.

The above image comes from the 10th Century Tibetan translation of the Sanskrit text "Prajnaparamita Sutra", held at a Japanese museum. In the enlargement you can see two objects that look like hats, but why are they floating in mid air? Also one of them appears to have port holes on it. Indian Vedic texts are full of descriptions of Vimanas. The Ramayana describes Vimanas as a double decked, circular or cylindrical aircraft with portholes and a dome. It flew with "the speed of the wind" and gave forth a "melodious sound."
Check this Alien Architecture. The Soviets built it but how they had no money and the Russians are stupid people too.
