no i'm referring to Pakistan's constant appeal to the US for aid, starting from the day it was formed and especially in the ongoing conflict with India and now with terrorism. they can't do anything right, i'm not proud of that.

You've succeeded in illustrating that you have next to no knowledge of the history being commemorated on Nov. 11 and that you are far too focused by the present political environment to see past it to the larger picture. exactly, it isn't "I agree with the Iraq war" day it is a day of respect for those who have given their service and/or their lives in all historical conflicts. It isn't a celebration of the conflict, but of the personal sacrifice.

and he also forgets that historically speaking, not everyone who fights in a war actually volunteered for the military. The lack of a wartime draft is a relatively new thing

how is taking a simple 2 minutes to observe silence in respect of those fallen a celebration?

You are not celebrating killing, you're commemorating the sacrifices made to allow you the life you enjoy.
