Tarts seem to be a very Canadian thing.

One of my m8's from Kamloops, B.C. has a grandmother who makes like a billion tarts every time she comes and visits.

Especially butter tarts (think mini peacan pies without the peacans). I can't recall ever seeing butter tarts anywhere else... peacan tarts sure but not plain butter tarts. If there were any uniquely Canadian foods it would have to be butter tarts, Ketchup chips and poutine... end of list.
