Well, considering that TR is about only promotion that is willing to have locals play in the main room along with headliners... Props to them for giving the locals the chance to really rock the party and supporting local talent.

Sure, K&A are good (so is Gielen), but I have a feeling that K&A are going to come to Toronto more often.

The Guv does 1 hr slots for big name DJs all the time.

Don't fret too much about it.

edit: since I'm coming to this event mainly to hear TA DJs rock the casbah, short slots for headliners are just fine for me

i respect what you're saying but in all honesty, this is their first time coming here, so i dont see how you think talented international djs like them are going to be coming often. if we were a country in europe then id understand your point, but in reality were in canada, we count the days down to get djs like these. i just really dont see the need for locals to get longer set times if that time could be given to the internationals, who are the REASON why docks is going to be packed the way it will be that night...

yea its great that theyre givin the local djs a chance to play wit big name djs but havin 456346 djs so they each get to play for an hour doesnt make sense... and if the locals are gonna get an hour then djs like johan gielen or k&A should get moore time since most ppl are payin to see THEM.

gielens not here that often.... the lasttime he was at guv was canada day he deservessssss a longer set as well

i would recommend changing the thread title so ppl know more specifically what the thread is about.

i personally wish gielen could come on early like 12ish for 2.5 and then k&a for 2.5, but because of the format of the night, it doesn't seem like they'll be coming on that early. i think i'll wait for set times to get my tickets.

Doesn't matter to me...I'm sure if K&A plays a 1.5 hour set, it'll be an amazing 1.5 hours w/ non stop tunes! Same with Gielen...

I'm going to be floating around a that night checking out the different rooms and stuff so I don't want to be stuck in the main room all night(cause i'm not going to miss 1 single minute of K&A's set )

Me and a bunch of friends will be coming up from K-town and was wondering if there were any hotels near the Docks (maybe within walking distance?). If anyone could point out a few decently priced hotel rooms we'd appreciate it!

The Docks is in the docks. There are no hotels that I know of in that area. Stay anywhere downtown and grab a cab.
