To making things fair, let put the prime Federer and the prime Sampras on clay court, their "worst" surface. My money is on Federer to win 9 of 10 matchs against Sampras on a clay court. The good old day of service and volley is gone. |

Federer vs. Gonzalez in the final.

| My point was that Sampras was also great and I have confidence he could find a way to beat Federer; Nadal has done it a number of times and if he can do it so can Sampras. |
my prediction. federer in 4. the set he loses will be in a tiebreak because he'll feel sorry for gonzalez
Federer may become historic if he manages to win the game in 3 straight sets because he still hasn't lost a set and the closest someone came was Robredo and Djokovic.
This man is a human machine, I still can't believe how good he actually is.
Gonzalez is pretty good though
Interesting player ![]()
Gonzalez will be served (pun intended) in 3. Federer might sweep the Grand Slams this year if Nadal continues to slip like he has.
and YES I think Nadal is his only real "challenge" in todays game.

. I won't miss the grunting contest between Maria and Serena though
(hoping for a late Saturday re-broadcast)
Maria got pwned.
Quite a dominating performance by Serena.
^Maria got killed.
yeh sucked real bad. at least she's world #1
Strong win by Williams, even though I dislike her most on the Womens Tour.

For all you Serena haters

She whipped Maria's ass and better yet, she's not not even at 100% yet!!!
Aslong as my boy Gonzalez puts up a fight, im happy.
CHI-CHI-CHI!
LE-LE-LE!
VIVA CHILE!!!!
looks even so far. i am going to bed after this first set tho. hope federer wins and maybe they'll put him in a league with superspeed six armed aliens... who'll he'll dominate too.
go Roger, and win without losing a set
Ho-hum, Federer won the title.
Without losing a set! Gonzalez had a set point in the 1st set, but couldn't convert.
Federer lost hardly any points on his serve in the 2nd and 3rd sets.
Atleast he gave some sort of fight in the 1st set, but afterwards Roger gulped down the rocket sauce and took over the match completely. Oh well, atleast Gonzalez played some really good tennis and hopefully he can get a chance to fight for another Grand Slam sometime soon.
Didn't see the game, but I'm highly impressed by Roger not losing a set.
