Something along the lines of, "AJ, I think you're so fucking hot"?

OMG!

"I think you're so ducking hot."

That was bad.

P.S.

there is a good possibility, no doubt about it.

Yes, the reason why you broke up I would say is a definite factor, as well as how much each of you want to stay friends. I dated Josh for 2 years on and off, yet he is still my best friend to this day, and in fact our friendship is the best it's ever been. But we broke up on good terms, and both didn't want it to affect our friendship. *and that's all I'm going to say about my personal life on the boards*

In reponse to the theme of this thread, once you broke up, you don't go back. Breaking up is a one time deal, if you couldn't work your problems in the first place you're most likely to break up again. Staying friends is alright, that's something some of us could live with.

I agree and disagree with this statement. I think the key thing is that you tried to work out your problems in the first place. If you just gave up and broke up due to problems, and then got back together and actively tried to fix the problems I think it could work. But if you tried to fix the problems the first time around and it didn't work, then I don't see it being any different the second time.

The other thing too is time...how long you've been apart, and how much each of you has grown as a person. People do change.

100% agree. People don't always break up because they hate each other. Sometimes, for whatever reason, they just don't desire romantic involvement with anyone at a particular time. Always stay friends.

That's close to my case. She had started wondering about her life direction as soon as she turned 26... like a quarter-life crisis.

I just met my ex (from 7 years ago) for coffee the other day. I don't remember what I saw in her...

I had one GF who broke up with me because her father was becoming very sick and she just wanted to relieve herself of the stress of dealing with a relationship.

Another I dated for 2 years in high school, but she went to university in another city... we continued dating for a year, but eventually gave up because the long-distance thing was just not working for us. We're still great friends and talk all the time.

My most recent was just really not ready for a full-blown relationship. She had some problems with depression and the relationship just fizzled away. We're still good friends, and I see her often through school, but the romance is gone.

Conclusion: sometimes, it just ends for no good reason. But staying friends is good.
