No it's not. There is a sound around at the moment, which is just like this, for example Sean Tyas and all of the stuff like that. This seems to be the most popular style at the moment..... some people will have to live with the fact that its popular.

How people can say "worst song ever" "its as bad or worse than DJ Sammy" - nonsense!

Yes it is.

People don't have to live with anything they don't want to. Why would anyone want to live with something they're not happy with? If we all followed whatever was popular at the time we'd all be listening whatever MTV and pop radios have on powerplay and nothing else. This track is a step in that direction and is bastardizing the genre even further than what it has become lately. Don't let other people decide what you should be listening to.

This is not trance.

You missed my point.

This is the direction that Trance is going at the moment, people will have to face facts that this is the case, so there are bound to be more songs cropping up like this. I'm sure it will move on again to a different type of Style which will be all the rage...

Posted by Simcut on Apr-16-2007 11:51:

By the way, this track is far from poppy, are you having me on? :-S

This is not the direction trance is going. This is not trance at all anymore.

Posted by Simcut on Apr-16-2007 11:54:

It is trance. Take away the vocals and guitar, and you have a Trance track similar to the sounds of Stoneface & Terminal / Sean Tyas. Even with the vocals its still a trance tune!

It might not be what you want to perceive Trance to be, but it still is!

And this is the direction trance is going, in terms of overall popularity.

So a campfire sing along vocal on top of a thirteen-in-a-dozen guitar riff is not poppy now?

Posted by Mr.Mystery on Apr-16-2007 11:56:

Right, I think that's enough of going around in circles for me.

And I will happily lambaste them as well.

Walk Down suffered the same fate last year, and I am sure many more of these emo-trance tracks will get slated by me in the coming year

As for it not sounding poppy.... you yourself said it was popular, ergo making it poppy

Yes, it's trance. the worst trance track of 2007 with Megashira.

I hate Megashira with a passion, and it is still leagues better than Anthem

And what about the rest of the track? suppose that's pop as well is it?

Posted by TOR on Apr-16-2007 12:04:

The rest of the track merely has a supporting role.

That track is almost like popmusic; and if you do want to assocoiate it with trance then call it what it is: poptrance.
