BIG POWERPLAY GOAL!!!

Marcus Naslund!!

13-2 shots

the players now truely believe they can play with these guys and win this series. they need to back it up right now with a strong start to period 2!

because there is nothing more id like to see than the canucks knocking a highly rated mickey mouse team out of the playoffs. pronger and niedermayer are only human.

Posted by SolemnThirsty on Apr-30-2007 03:29:

canucks gotta do something about their special team especially on the power play. canucks should of have capitalize on those two 3 on 5. canucks beats themselves tonight, especially on the power play!

I was at the game...

We had an amazing start and just kept coming oh so close...

Lui needs to look where he shoots the puck.

Posted by DjCommisad on Apr-30-2007 06:11:

1. how many goals have i seen come off a play where luongo tries to play the puck?! TOO MANY!!!

2. how can you NOT capaitalize 5 on 3 with neidermeyer AND pronger in the box AT THE SAME TIME!

3. 3/50 going into this game and 4/(what 57-60?) is SO SAD. 6% power play?!! WOOOOOW. If the Ducks take 10 penalties, MAKE THEM PAY with more than a lucky bounce off the goalie onto naslund's stick.

4. PISS OF GIGGY. Turco is a hot head, but he looks like ice compared to giggy. I've seen so much footage of giggy swiping at players who get in his FACE. He should be seeing nothing but canuck ass ALL NIGHT.

5. OMG GIGGY CANNOT HANDLE THE PUCK, so why the HELL do you skate up to the blue line on a power play and THEN dump it. Dump it from the red and chase it, or take it all the way in and make a play, f*//ing naslund skates up to the blue, crosses it, dumps it, no one chases it, and its right back down the ice. Giggy =/= Turco, he can't handle it, dump and chase. if you're scared of duck bodies (ITS THE PLAYOFFS GET IN THERE) then at least carry it in. That 5 on 3 was SO SAD, the puck was in our zone more than the neutral zone let alone the ducks.

6. More traffic. I'm sick of this cycle cycle cycle, wait for the PERFECT play to put a guy in front for a tip, when we get like 1 out of every 30 shots THROUGH to the front of the net.

thats the problem with the canucks. they've got an amazing goalie, yet a lot of their scoring is based on how lucky they can get. you can't win your games by only relying on hard work at the net, people in front of you should also do the work and put the damn puck where it belongs

Posted by SolemnThirsty on May-01-2007 03:17:

it been the scoring, canucks can't finished and capitalized on the special team!

nucks can still come back up, you never know
in the 2003 playoffs, first round vs calgary, didnt nucks came back to win the series 4-3 down from 3-1

that was a team that could score, had more heart, and was consistent at fighting for the puck.

i lost count of how many times tonight where a lazy canuck could have taken one more step, moved half a stride faster, and they could have won a puck battle. they're not fighting for the puck. we had a great first, bodies screening giguere, and we got a goal for it. the second and third looked like the rest of the series, the canucks looking like a team on the penalty kill when they're on the power play, and looking like 5 on 3 when they were playing 5 on 5.

ah Canucks lost that round in OT in 7 games!

Posted by DjCommisad on May-02-2007 22:09:

yea, the famous matt cooke goal with barely seconds left to send it to OT and then gelinas scoring like 1-2 mins in to end it.

I was there for that. (and also the playoff ending games against the Wild, Red Wings, and Avalanche in previous years...*le sigh*) At least this time around, I can't be blamed for being a jinx on the team!

I would love to see the Canucks come back but I just don't see it with this team. Oh well, c'est la vie.

Posted by DjCommisad on May-03-2007 10:42:

yeah, was 2004, b/c in 2003 it was the come from behind on st louis, and the up 3-1 (just like this year with dallas but with a different ending) with the wild.

we've come from behind 3-1 7 times in canuck history, so its possible! gotta believe. gotta hope. if the canucks are out i'm torn between rooting for the remaining canadian team and buffalo. even san jose would be nice... san jose vs buffalo/ottawa?

Posted by TCB on May-04-2007 04:02:

Overtime!!! Again!!! Luongo standing on his head again! wow!

Ducks in DBl OT!! oh well off to play golf for the canucks.

Posted by SolemnThirsty on May-04-2007 04:52:

the run ends here. trade in the hockey sticks for golf clubs.

Posted by DjCommisad on May-04-2007 05:25:

trade everyone but Luongo. 60 shots on net, over 98 shots AT the net (most of them missing, very few of them blocked). I don't blame him if he comes home choked.

Posted by xtr3m on May-04-2007 06:16:

Good season, guys.

Posted by Vandit99 on May-07-2007 01:59:

Smile

yes, it was a good season for team Luongo!
