PM me where to send the files which I shall
add to the Refill.
I want mainly wav files for the NN19, but I take also Maelstorm and

so whats up with this post? no one is doing shit or what?

Posted by ms_bug on Sep-20-2002 23:49:

nice thread. good work everyone!

ok, this isn't related with phat sounds but i was playing around FL and try to do a rework of Mainx and sound de-zign. you know, like PvD did it for mayday 2001 and 2002. so i was wondering how he gets such "stacatto" piano (i really don't know how to explain this, but if you listen you will see).

first i use envelope and some gating. it sounds nice and all but it's just not it. it's how-to-say "empty". maybe i didn't use the right piano sample? do you know (or have) some piano samples i could use? maybe some other ideas? FX i could use?

thanx

Get the Fender Rhodes piano plug-in.
It sounds like a real piano!

(WARNING! bad english ahead)

ok it's not a "how to program that synth" post but I thought it fitted anyway

when you produce...don't work and work and work on a song just to get that perfect sound that will sell you 1000 records over a night.....coz that won't happen...

instead just make the songs....let it sound crapy if it sounds crapy....the mainthing is that you actually make songs so you can learn from your mistakes....I think that helps a hundred times better then just asking how to achieve that perfect sound.....after all it's up to us to create that perfect sound and believe me, you wont make it in the first song you create....you think tiestos first song ever was a megahit? my guess, it sucked worse than a horsearse...my guessing is that he made hundreds of songs before he even came close to fame and success....

well what I'm trying to say with this post I guess is don't get stuck on a song for to long, don't expect to create that bermegahit the first thing you do.

give it time and don't try to rush it on...it won't work

hi folks, it's me again

here's a short sample of a rank1-like pad.
SuperPad v1.1

all i used was fruityloops, 6 instances of the build-in 3xOSC, and some of the fruityloops fx-plugins.
any1 got some other examples of his/her work?

Question: How to make a Push style trance lead??? talk about a very clear question...

Posted by Trancevision on Oct-15-2002 21:57:

I think Robert knows( and perhaps someone else of course )...he already remixed some push tunes, sounded awesome

its a simple FM lead with cutoff envelope for the breaks... its really easy... if u know what ur doing

BTW im new here, so hi...

edit:

i managed to do a "push" synth with pro-52 and an EQ so it dont have to be FM...

Posted by John on Oct-27-2002 20:36:

Hey people!

I think this is the right thread to ask my question. I was wondering if anyone here could give some tips about mastering. I'm able to create some nice trance songs now, but I don't know much about mastering. I know a bit about removing frequencies and stuff, but I still have the problem that my tracks sound different on different sound systems, while professional tracks sound good on all systems!

I have a program called 'T-racks', but I don't know if that's any good? So maybe there is someone here who knows how to give our tracks the finishing touch, so that they sound really professional.

Thanx!

this may sound simple to some ppl...If u want a big bottom on a bass drum...raise between 60hz & 100hz...Compression is also needed to get it realy phat...

Posted by Trancevision on Nov-17-2002 11:30:

thank you for the hints, keeping the thread alive !
I am going to check with the big bottom bassdrum

Yeah, I already tried compression. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But I will try the 'raise between 60hz & 100hz' part

Posted by Vizay on Nov-18-2002 17:44:

ok I got another heavy question now...I've got serious problems with getting those small sounds into my songs that do that little extra...fe. shooting stars and small beeps or whatever it might be....anyone have some tips on where and how to get good ones....and how to put them in there and on and on etc etc etc

Posted by mantisnl on Nov-18-2002 18:04:

hey vizay

just try 2 search for some little odd samples on www.analoguesamples.com
then put a very big reeverb on it.. and put the cutoff pretty low.. the resonaince pretty high.. and put the volume also pretty low.. untill it`s the way u like.. that way u have some nice fx throughout ur track
