Wish I could have made it last night to see it for myself, even with the bad reviews and all. Anyone have any pics of the place?

It sucks that the sound system was shotty and poorly EQ'ed. That really takes any dynamics and mixing the DJ does. I'll be the first to admit that when it's uber bassy, it all really does start to sound the same. (sigh)

To the former, not that I'm aware of, to the latter, probably. I know it was the reason why there were huge American flags plastered up on the new monitors they put in.

ah that's too bad... oh well. i think it comes out here in the US next week anyway.

I had a great time last night at the show. Ferry was great as usual, and I like the new look of the Old Eleven50. I have to agree with my brother on the sound system. Way too much bass.

Other than that is was a great show. About what one can expect for $20 and a club atmostphere.

the energy in the club was ridiculous ....i enjoyed ferry's set.. i got a dollar signed by him haha...

How? Did you invent an intricate system of pulleys and levers to get it to him in some clandestine Rube Goldberg machine? Did you implement a trebuchet?

well somehow my buddy steve got into V.I.P like way early during the set...he came and got me...they finally let me in as well.... when ferry had finished his set... i gave my dollar to my buddy, since they wouldnt let me beyond the rope to the actual dj area..too crowded i guess...he got ferry to sign it and there it is...

I still don't understand the signing of a dollar. I guess if it is the only thing you can have signed that is one thing. It just seems to me that there might be a greater tendency to have to spend US currency as opposed to something like a poster, or a shirt, or a candy cane. Something that you won't lose and won't have to spend on a drunken night at the rodeo.

one time at avalon in boston i saw oakey sign a bandaid (still in it's wrapper, not used)... they gave him like 7 things at once to sign (mostly entrance tix to that night's event, and one bandaid). he held it up like WTF and signed it anyway... was kinda funny.

I would sign that only for the effort. Why would someone just happen to have one in their pocket ready? That person not only came prepared, but also had the balls to try and get that signed. Points for effort and preparedness.

Hey, some people should pack bandaids with them. Like that cracked out girl last night who was dancing with the stout Mexican man that wore the Tommy Hilfiger polo. She had that napkin on her shoulder acting as a bandaid all night.

And boy was she ever cracked out.

found out her name was Michelle I think.

I thought that was a bandage, but then I didn't look very closely. I just thought it would be best not to mess with it.

I don't know why she was dancing with the stout mexican guy. That was a weird match.

well it was a girl, and she had it in her purse... maybe she is one of those people that is prepared for all instances? maybe she just wanted oakey to sign a bandaid? who knows... it was funny though. and someone did get a dollar signed by him too because they had nothing else on them to sign.

I think you might have been the guy who was glowsticking with my brother (dieselboy_1206) right near the staircase up to the elevated stage/dj booth.

Maybe?

In which case you saw two TA's!

I think they rushed to fast to open and wasn't 100% ready. Never the less there is a lot of potential there and once the kinks are ironed out it will be a great space.

Oh and just so some of you know i have a new announcement that i will add in here that i just go the contracts on....

Friday August 3rd - Sasha @ WETbar!!!!!!!!!

Billy Justy??? OMG if he tunes it then it will sound incredible. Will he be in house all the time or just popping in from time to time to tune it?? Folks, Billy is one of the best Sound guys in the biz and when he gets done with that rig it will sing sweet music into our ears!!! Very nice!!!

Indeed I didn't go. Too much going on with work so I couldn't make it out.

Would have liked to have been there to see Ferry and check out the changed to the club but looks like (hopefully) I'll get to experience it for my first time once they work out all the problems.

I've seen some of the pics and the place does look a little better, though, I'll admit. I hate the fact that the DJ booth is raised. I loved the more "intimate" feel of being closer to the DJ's.

And whomever said Ligaya was played....I hope you're lying or just suck at ID'ing tracks. The one time he plays it and I miss it. Make sure you didn't confuse it was First State - Evergreen as when I first hear that tune, I thought it was a new version of Ligaya...

Looking forward to Sander K @ WETbar.

It was Ligaya, of this I'm sure.

it sounded nothing like Evergreen

sample

that's a sample of Evergreen which doesn't sound like Ligaya to me. The track he played even sounded a bit 2000ish, so yep, j00 missed out

thought not on much really.
