Its frustrating that people glaze over the problem and dive right into the argument. This issue is not about politics or anything else; it is about knowing when wrong has been done. All matters of overreacting is secondary, when people cannot even agree on that which is wrong.

You guys are the only ones causing an argument in here, can't you see that? Nobody's disagreed that wrong has been done. Do you have selective reading comprehension??

The argument I am referring to is others beliefs on the topic. This is a debate, and in a debate there are sides and opinions or arguments; like in courtrooms ie. closing arguments.

disagreeing and minimizing are two important things in this situation. Some prefer to diologe and have a go at arguing a topic rather than throwing out random n-bombs for a giggle.

The only thing done wrong here was that someone didnt check their CC:

Whats next? Being accused of insensitivity to the handicapped because someone called someone an idiot?

...I gather than that you believe that the racist comments of the email are irrelevant, not important or worse, not wrong.

My god you're dense. Just jog on and stop patronizing the adults, hmm?

Debate my ass, lol.

Certainly not an overreaction... when people are stigmatized, like this fellow was, of course there will be negative connotations and reactions that will come to past. Because of this, there could many negative consequences/ results for said person and or group of people whom might share the same experience

Props to the brotha for using the system to get his own... he saw an opportunity and he exploited it to his own benefit. And while you daft (c)unts are debating the rights and wrongs of what happened, the ghetto dudes paddling down easy street with the 60k job he scored from the private sector. I'd say he's recovering pretty well from the shock of being called a ghetto dude by some dimwit who doesn't know how to use email...

Regardless, keep at it - I just wanted to give a shoutout to a man who stood up, took action and achieved something for himself - I'll leave this discourse open to you intellectually whiny bitches so you can keep doing what you do best.

I think you are the joke here... making broad generalities, and backpedaling when people call you out on your narrow views. Do you even have anything remotely intelligent to add to the discussion?

How am I making generalities, and how have I backpedalled? I stand by everything I said in this thread. What narrow views? That I have no respect or sympathy for people who exploit the system? That I can't stand whiners and people who cry victim?? Fuck off.

Hmm, let us see,

You wrote:

"Yeah the issue here is that this dumb fuck is acting like a Jew about the whole thing."

- You don't consider that racist/ anti-semitic?

Also, you wrote:

"Whatever, I don't give a fuck if it's racist or not."

- In other words, you don't give shit about racism/ intolerance against others. Your own words

You posted this demeaning picture in this thread

http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a3...termelowned.jpg

etc, etc,etc

You are bigot and people like you need to fuck off.

How would you like it if you applied for a government job, and got an e-mail by mistake from someone working at Human Resources, remarking, " Oh ya guy, it is that dumb blond broad I was telling you about." HMMM?

Posted by Silky Johnson on Jul-29-2007 22:14:

You've interpreted my posts in a manner that supports your agenda, good for you. I don't feel it's necessary for me to explain myself any further, and I don't care to either.

And if someone sent me an email like that, you can bet your fucking ass I wouldn't cry "Oh poor me!! I've been victimized by discrimination/racism/whatever, reward me!!" I'd have enough dignity and self worth to realize that's not the kind of company I'd want to work for anyways, and walk the fuck away from it without putting up a stink, like the FUCKING WHINER in the article.

Good day.

No, I'm not joking, and I doubt you'd think it was a joke either - that is of course, if you have the capacity to think outside the little box. To borrow a famous slogan - do ya think it's in you ?

Lets find out, here's a scenario that some might call similar to the one the ghetto dude faced.

You apply to McDonalds to get the coveted fryer job you've been dreaming off. The manager responds to you by email, cause your broke country ass got no phone. In the email you find he refers to you as that prolapsed, gutteral whore with the smart mouth (it's a stretch I know, but hey, it was either that, or trailer trash blonde). Now, what do you do ?

1) Ignore it by telling yourself that people talk shit, and you're not a gutteral whore (anymore)...

or, do you

2) Get mad...and hopefully get even by doing something about it.

All the man wanted was to be given a fair shot, to be treated like everyone else. Had he looked different, I'm sure the email would have read, that dude from UofT...but no, he had to be labelled something, and I dunno about you, but most of us don't like being labelled something that sets us apart from others.

So yea, I'm not fucking joking... he did what he had to do, and by the looks of it, he's going to come out on top. Did he exploit the system ? You goddamnright he did...but not before the system exploited him.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Jul-29-2007 22:24:

I'm sorry, but a person who has exploited the system has not "earned" anything, in my opinion. And my opinion is not up for debate, thank you.

That's a real shame, especially since you've proved time and again in this thread that you have the capacity to voice your opinions so eloquently and in such a unbiased fashion.

Cool. You're entitled to think what you want. I'm not ashamed of my thoughts or actions just because you don't like them.

What was said in the email was not nice at all. But racist it was not.

Sticks and stones....

Whether it was racist or not is debatable, and quite frankly not relavant to the central argument. The point is that the man was labelled by someone who should have known better. What's the point of refering to him as 'ghetto' ? why even go there. Why not just say that dude from UofT - or the job applicant?

If I found out that someone had categorized me like that during the job application process I'd be upset. I'd want to know why? Why if we are all equal and based solely on merit that someone should go beyond using my name or accepted generic titles like 'applicant' to categorize me? What did the writer imply? What possible ramifications could that email have had on my application had I not been privy to it? The email might not be overtly racist, but it certinaly begs the question.

Now...while I agree too much is being made about this incident, I'm glad the 'dude' did something for himself. He went to the press, he created a ruck, he swung from the rafters crying "Freedom"...whatever, he did what he had to do because he felt wronged, and judging by the reaction, quite a few people agree with him.

Did he use the incident to his own benefit? Damn right he did, and why not ? If the system fucks with you, you fuck right back. From what I've read, some of you people would rather he just shut the fuck up and get on with his life. Just send that email into the trash and hop on back to the ghetto and pretend like you weren't just fucked with by an employee of the governement of Canada. I guess you're the type of people who'd tell the gays to just forget it when someone calls them a ****** (hell, I'm willing to bet some of you are the type who do call them ******s), the type of people who'd stand around and let someone call your girl a (c)unt...sticks and stones right?

Well, maybe you'll get lucky in life and everybody'll treat you right...or maybe not, in which case you'll have to do what others in a similar situation have done and fight for that respect.
