I'm totally gonna get high before I watch this movie I have to use for a research paper. It'll be way easier to come up with my thesis.

LOL...no, we don't have to take drug tests. God, I can think of plenty of nurses AND doctors who'd be unemployed if they did drug tests.

Obviously it's frowned upon to be a raging drug/alcohol abuser, but what one does in their private time (and hopefully in moderation) is one's own business (that's a whole other ethical debate right there).

But this is where professional accountability comes into play...because I would never go into work drunk or high. In fact, I think it's against the law to drink 12 hours before a shift.

I just wouldn't do anything that would compromise my ability to make clinical judgements.
