CZ is definitely an experience. I'd rather take CZ over going to regular clubs with people dressed to get attention, annoying guys hitting on every girl they see and pushy crowds

Originally posted by nifty narcotix Ok, so after all the responses to this thread, I've come to some conclusions. The reasons why I haven't had a good time at CZ seem to be nonexistent, mostly just in my head. The main thing was that I felt unsafe there, because it's such a shady place. From what everyone is saying though, I gather that this isn't really the case, and people tend to mind their own business. I also didn't know about all the different areas and what each one means (boys town, gangster row, etc). That helps a lot. I definitely will give it another shot sometime soon, to see how it goes. Hopefully not on an expensive day. If it doesn't work out, then whatever. I just hate the idea of missing out on an awesome party for stupid reasons.
dont let the door hitcha on the way out.
i've never been to cz, always wanted to though. after reading all these posts, pretty interesting to say the least. i have a few questions
-how many people can fit at cz, with talks of boyztown, chinatown etc, sounds like a little city.
-when you say gangsters, do you mean real gangsters, or wannabe thugs with baggy pants and such? what do they do that makes them so scary.
-are fights common?
-what about the bouncers? are they as good as at guv?
hahah @ this thread
honestly, I could sit down with a case of beer and talk about zone for 10 hours straight and only be half way through my "INSANE ZONE STORIES"...
good times indeed, and never ceases to be a topic of discussion on both this board and in real life.

Ever been to Jane and Finch? If not go and check out the Jane & Finch mall from the inside.....Whatever type you see there.....
-are fights common?
Depends sometimes /sometimes not ...... I have seen guys beating up a dood or couple of doods beating them up with chairs and stuff upstairs....Just dont get gang banged because it wont be a single dood it will be a whole gang.....
-what about the bouncers? are they as good as at guv?
CZ 8/10.........Guv bouncers 10/10

Originally posted by Endlesswave Fucking right. Never been, will NEVER go. As for knowing how the scene was like when it first started I'm sure it wasn't like the zone. Sure there might've been some sketch but nothing like what's in the zone from what I hear. Been to enough places in my partying career to recognize a dirty, nasty, shithole of a place to know that I wouldn't have a good time there. (and I have had some fun in places that were questionable, just not every fucking week, man...just don't understand it. I hear a lot in this thread about how it's good b/c there are no drunken idiots, ok sure but from what I see it's b/c of the "high as I kite, wtf is going on" mentality of the partiers there. Probably to the point where I'd be unsettled/annoyed at their stupidness just the same way I m when I drunken idiot does stupid shit at a club, if not more so.

Originally posted by ChemEnhanced 7-8 years ago the Zone scared me...it is so tame now that Guv actually scares me more. I love the atmosphere in the CZ......all the people are there to party and listen to great beats...the true lovers go to the zone. Its dark, its dirty, its a place you wouldn't want your mother knowing you go to....its a throw back to better times...imo.

Originally posted by nifty narcotix Alright, so I'm hoping someone can help me out with this. I've been to CZ three or four times now, and I can't honestly say I've ever had a good time there. But at the same time, I see loads of people, here and elsewhere, talking about how awesome a time they always seem to have at Zone, and how much they look forward to future events. So I'm trying to figure out why I can't ever enjoy it. Obviously, the music is awesome. No question. But the atmosphere there just seems so unfriendly and negative. I remember being genuinely scared there on more than one occasion. Is it all just in my head? Am I hanging out in the wrong places? Should I not be talking to people while I'm there? Apparently there's an upstairs....what's there? Usually what ends up happening when I find myself at zone is that I have trouble getting into the dance floor - because I can't see and am afraid of the people around me. I end up sitting on the patio most of the time and smoking. Either there or in the lounge to the right of the DJ booth. So I guess what I'm asking is for someone to please explain Comfort Zone to me. I really want to be able to enjoy it, since it is THE afterhours place in Toronto, and I live a 10-15 minute walk away from it, but I just haven't been able to up to this point. Thanks!

+1
100%
I usually go sober and still have an amazing time!
the zone represents everything i believe a club should be.
its raw, and focused on the music- not the vip.
to feel 'included' all you have to do is love the music.
if you feel like you dont fit in- its probably because you cant get over being surrounded by people different from you.
